THE A47 TRUNK ROAD (WANSFORD INTERCHANGE TO SUTTON ROUNDABOUT, CAMBRIDGESHIRE)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 202_
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) intends to make an Order on the A47 Trunk Road in the County of Cambridgeshire to enable carriageway resurfacing, road markings and loop works to be carried out in safety.
The works would take place over approximately 8 weeks starting on or after Monday 7 July 2025. The effect of the order on the A47 would be to impose, for 24 hours daily, a speed limit of 50 miles per hour, on the eastbound and westbound carriageways between their junctions with the eastern side of the A47/A1 Northbound Roundabout at Wansford Interchange and the western side of the A47 Sutton Roundabout. All laybys adjacent to the length of the A47 described above would be closed for 24 hours daily for the duration of the works.
The temporary speed limit (which would not apply to emergency service or special force vehicles) and closures (which would not apply to emergency service, traffic officer or works vehicles) would be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
The Order would come into force on 30 June 2025 and may continue in force until the works detailed above have been completed, or for a maximum duration of eighteen months whichever is the earlier.
