NOTICE OF MODIFICATION ORDER

SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY IN HERTFORDSHIRE

(ALDENHAM 98)

MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above Order made on 15th May 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by:

Adding to the map a footpath commencing from the eastern corner of King George V Playing Fields (outlined on 1927 to 1978) Great North Road approximately 70m (when NW in northern edge of field) and then running in a generally northerly direction to the King George V Playing Fields public open ground at TQ 2090 9698.

Copies of the Order and the Order Plan may be seen free of charge at Aldenham Parish Council, The Radlett Centre, 1 Aldenham Avenue, Radlett WD7 8HL and at the offices of Rights of Way Service, CHN103, County Hall, Pegs Lane, Hertford SG13 8DN from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm Monday to Friday and at Hertsmere Borough Council, Elstree Way, Borehamwood, WD6 1WA.

Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to the Definitive Map Officer, Countryside and Rights of Way Service, CHN103, County Hall, Pegs Lane, Hertford, SG13 8DN or by email to row@hertfordshire.gov.uk (quoting the Order reference number) no later than 18th July 2025.

Representations or objections must include particulars of the grounds on which it is made. If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Hertfordshire County Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the Order.

If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for confirmation, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with the Order.

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A41 ELTON WAY, BUSHY ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A41 Elton Way, Bushey from a point 150m south east of its junction with B462 Hartspring Lane roundabout north westwards for a distance of approximately 70m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via:

  • A41 (Elton Way/Watford Bypass),

  • A411 (Elstree Road/ Sparrows Herne/High Street/ London Road/ Chalk Hill),

  • A4008 (Aldenham Road/ Beechen Grove/ Eastbury Road/ Lower High Street/ Dalton Way/ Waterfields Way),

  • A4008 Stephenson Way and A41 North Western Avenue One Way.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 21 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A412 UXBRIDGE ROAD, RICKMANSWORTH ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A412 Uxbridge Road, Rickmansworth from its junction with the A412 Denham Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 20m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via:

  • A412 (Denham Way, Long Lane, Herongate Road, Slire Lane, Station Approach),

  • A404 (Rickmansworth Road/Chorleywood Road/Chalk Hill),

  • A4145 (Tolpits Lane/Whippendell Road/Chorleywood Road),

  • A412 Rickmansworth Road and A412 Rectory Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF SOLESBRIDGE LANE, CHORLEYWOOD ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Solesbridge Lane, Chorleywood from its junction with Sarratt Road south westwards to its junction with Sarratt Lane, a distance of approximately 663m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via:

  • Sarratt Road,

  • The Green,

  • A412 Scots Hill/Park Road,

  • A404 (Chorleywood Road/Rickmansworth Road) and

  • Solesbridge Lane.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing utility pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 25 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF EASTGLADE/HOLBEIN GATE, NORTHWOOD ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Eastglade/Holbein Gate, Northwood from a point in line with the eastern boundary of No. 2 Eastglade south westwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the length of Roads”).

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in these roads will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON WATFORD BOROUGH PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.023 AND THE BUS LANE SITUATED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF STATION ROAD, WATFORD ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:

  1. To prohibit all pedestrians from using Watford Borough Public Footpath No.023 from its junction with Station Road south westwards to its junction with Station Road, a distance of approximately 138m (“Public Footpath”), except for access.

  2. The existing Bus Lane order on the north side of Station Road, Watford from a point 28m eastwards of its junction with Beechen Grove westwards for a distance of approximately 47m shall be temporarily suspended.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Public Footpath and Bus Lane.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 9 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN A4008 STEPHENSON WAY, WATFORD/BUSHEY ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A4008 Stephenson Way, Watford/Bushey from its junction with the A411 Waterfields Way/A411 Beechen Grove roundabout north westwards, north eastwards, and north westwards to its junction with the Colnhurst Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 138m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via:

  • A411 (Beechen Grove/Exchange Road/Beechen Grove),

  • A4125/A411 North Western Avenue/North Western Avenue/Colne Way, and A4008 Stephenson Way

    or via

  • A4008 Stephenson Way, A41 North Western Avenue/Colne Way/North Western Avenue, A4125/A411 Beechen Grove.

ADDITIONALLY, all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN HAREFIELD ROAD, RICKMANSWORTH ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Harefield Road, Rickmansworth from its junction with Riverside Drive westwards and south westwards to its junction with Woodcock Hill, a distance of approximately 420m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via:

  • Riverside Road, A404 (Church Street/London Road, White Hill, Riverside Drive/Riverside Road, White Hill, A4145 (Scots Hill), A404 (Riverside Drive, Woodcock Hill and A404 London Road and Harefield Road).

ADDITIONALLY, all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 10 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PARNELL CLOSE, ABBOTS LANGLEY ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Parnell Close, Abbots Langley from its junction with Summerhouse Way north westwards and northwards for its entire length (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in the Road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN OXHEY HALL, SOUTH OXHEY AND HAYLING ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:

  1. Patching works in Rivergate Avenue, Oxhey Hall/B4542 Prestwick Road, Hayling from its junction with A4125 Oxhey Hall south eastwards to its junction with Hayling Road, a distance of approximately 1372m

    (“the length of Roads”, Prestwick Road).

  2. B4542 length of Hayling Road, Hayling from its junction with B4542 Prestwick Road, southwards and south eastwards to its easternmost junction with Fulford Grove, a distance of approximately 421m.

An alternative route will be via:

  • B4542 (Prestwick Road/The Woods),

  • A125 (Hampermill Lane/Sandy Lane) and Hayling Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON OLD MILL ROAD AND A41 HEMPSTEAD ROAD, HUNTON BRIDGE ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) will be:

  1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Old Mill Road, Hunton Bridge from its junction with Old Mill Road roundabout north eastwards to its junction with Bridge Road, a distance of approximately 76m, except for access.

  2. To prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on the length of Road in item 1 above.

  3. All pedestrians will be prohibited from using that length running from the junction with the A41 to Old Mill Road, Hunton Bridge.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restriction specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF TOMS LANE, KINGS LANGLEY ORDER NO.2 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Toms Lane, Kings Langley from a point in line with the western boundary of No. 1 Toms Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 29m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via:

  • Toms Lane,

  • Primrose Hill,

  • Station Road,

  • Gallows Hill Lane,

  • High Street,

  • Bedmond Road,

  • High Street and Toms Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restriction specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
