Cumbria - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works

What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U1119, BURGH-BY-SANDS, U1122 HOSKETHILL AND U1113 BEAUMONT TO MONKHILL) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along the following sections of road:

1. U1119, Burgh-by-Sands from a point approx. 290m south east of its junction with the C2042, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 950m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U1119, B5307 Thurstonfield and the C2042.

Duration: From 7 July 2024 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROC/14608)

2. U1122, Hoskethill from its junction with the B5307, extending in an overall north westerly direction for approx. 760m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U1122 and the B5307.

Duration: From 14 July 2025 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROC/14609)

3. U1113, Beaumont to Monkhill from its junction with the U1111 at Beaumont to its junction with the C2042 at Monkhill.

Alternative Route: via the C2042 and the U1111.

Duration: From 14 July 2025 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROC/14944)

The Order will come into operation on 7 July 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
