U59 Scremerston Main Road - Temporary Road Closure

U59 SCREMERSTON MAIN ROAD BERWICK-UPON-TWEED
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE)
ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U59 Scremerston Main Road from its junction with the A1 heading in a northerly direction for a length of 370 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 17th June 2025 until the 11th July 2025.
It is expected that the road will only be closed on the following dates during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 11th July 2025.
17th June 2025 until the 18th June 2025 between the hours of 20:00 until 06:00
18th June 2025 until the 19th June 2025 between the hours of 20:00 until 06:00
19th June 2025 until the 20th June 2025 between the hours of 20:00 until 06:00
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being A1, A1167, U59 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by National Highways whilst carrying out resurfacing of the A1 and Bellmouth.
In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
