What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
C9 EAST NEWBIGGIN JUNCTION
TO MORRIS HALL FARM JUNCTION NORHAM
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER NUMBER 2 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the C9 East Newbiggin Junction to Morris Hall Farm Junction Norham 120 metres southwards from its junction with B6470 heading southwards for a distance of 48 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective on the 18th June 2025.
It is expected that the road will only be closed on the 18th June 2025 between the hours of 9:30 and 15:30 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 18th June 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the C9, A698, B6470 and vice-versa.
Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Hatton Traffic Management to inspect a redundant rail bridge for safety concerns. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
