What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
A1167 SCREMERSTON TO SUNNYSIDE TWEEDMOUTH
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the A1167 Scremerston to Sunnyside Tweedmouth from its junction with the U59 heading in a south westerly direction for a length of 353 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 16th June 2025 until the 26th July 2025.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 23rd June 2025 until the 9th July 2025 between the hours of 20:00 until 06:00 each night. There will be no weekend working during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 26th July 2025 .
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being A1, U59 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by National Highways due to resurfacing the A1 and the bell mouth. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
