What is happening?

Notice of Confirmation of Modification Order

Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way
For the County of Northumberland
Definitive Map Modification Order (No 17) 2024

The above Order, made on 13th November 2024, was confirmed on 4th June 2025, and will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by:-
Former Alnwick District
Byway Open to All Traffic No 47 (Parish of Elsdon)
Adding thereto a byway open to all traffic, from the B6341 road, 340 metres west of Bowershield (O.S. Grid Ref NY 9370 9486), in an easterly direction along the U4032 road for a distance of 685 metres, to a junction with existing Public Bridleway No 25, 340 metres south of South Riding (NY 9435 9474).
Public Bridleway No 24 (Parish of Elsdon)
The Definitive Statement for this existing public right of way will be amended to reflect the addition of Byway Open to All Traffic No 47.
These details are shown on the Order map. A copy of the Order and the Order map may be seen free of charge at the Council Offices of the Lindisfarne Centre, Lindisfarne Road, Alnwick, NE66 2EF and the offices of Legal Services, County Hall, Morpeth, NE61 2EF during normal working hours. The Order became operative on 4th June 2025 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provisions contained in it, on the ground that any requirements of the Act or any regulation has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, within six weeks from 12th June 2025 make an application to the High Court for that purpose.
