(CLOSURE OF ROADS IN SHINEY ROW AREA HOUGHTON-LE-SPRING)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025


Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit all vehicles along the lengths of road in the Schedule. The Order is required to facilitate water main installation works in or near the roads. The Order will come into operation on 30th June 2025. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be 18 months, however it is estimated the closure will only be for approximately 8 weeks from the commencement of the works. All vehicles will be prohibited from the roads listed in the Schedule (except vehicles involved in the works) until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. Alternative routes will be provided via the adjacent highway network. SCHEDULE Osmund Terrace South Back its entire extent. Park View from the extended north-western property boundary of the Community Library to its junction with Hedworth Terrace South Back. Hedworth Terrace South Back from its junction with Park View to its junction with St Oswalds Terrace South Back. St Oswalds Terrace South Back from its junction with Hedworth Terrace South Back to its junction with Milburn Terrace. Millburn Terrace its entire extent. Henry Street from its junction with Henry Street South Rear to the north-eastern property boundary of Burn House. Boult Terrace South Back its entire extent. Meadow Terrace South Back from its junction with Devon Street to its north-eastern extent. Surrey Place its entire extent. Travers Street its entire extent.
