What is happening?

Essex County Council

*(Epping Forest District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.48) Order 202

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and Part IV of and V of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: to implement ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restrictions

Cartersfield Road, Waltham AbbeyNorth Side: From a point approximately 28 metres east of its junction with Brooker Road east for approximately 39 metres.
South Side: From a point approximately 28 metres east of its junction with Brooker Road east for approximately 222 metres (including the access road to the Self-Storage Company).
 

This Order will be incorporated into “The Essex County Council (Epping Forest District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2010” by substituting map tiles: TQ389 09 Revision 0 to Revision 1, TQ380 08 Revision 0 to Revision 1.

**(Footpath 2 & 16, Waltham Abbey)

(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025**

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 2 and Footpath 16, Waltham Abbey in the District of Epping Forest as follows:

Footpath 2From a point approximately 236 metres southeast of its junction with Footpath 16 for approximately 86 metres northeast.
Footpath 16From a point approximately 429 metres southeast of its junction with Footpath 2 for approximately 66 metres southeast.
 

The closures are scheduled to commence on 11 June 2025 to 28 June 2025 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.

Working times: 0700 to 1800, where possible closure will be removed to allow normal access at the end of each shift.

Purpose: For the safety of the public and workforce while overhead cabling works at the pylons are undertaken.

Alternative route: via Main River Lee footpath, Waltham Abbey Footpath 7 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 11 June 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is earlier.

**(Upland Road, North Weald Bassett)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025**

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Upland Road, North Weald Bassett in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 220m south west of its junction with High Road for a distance of approximately 125m in a south westerly direction.

Closure scheduled: to commence on 7th July 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30807774681 – UK Power Networks).

Purpose: The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection supply works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

Alternative route: via Upland Road, Epping Road, Lindsey Street, Palmers Hill, Thornwood Road, The Plain, High Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 12th June 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

**(Drapers Corner, Ongar)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025**

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Drapers Corner, Ongar in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 75m south of its junction with Greensted Road for a distance of approximately 35m in a southerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd June 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX00662770AP – Affinity Water).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on onenetwork.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while the maintenance works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

Alternative route: via Drapers Corner, Mutton Row, Toot Hill Road, Greensted Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 29th May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

**(Dunmow Road, Fyfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025**

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dunmow Road, Fyfield in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 40m south west of its junction with Houchin Drive for a distance of approximately 60m in a south westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th June 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30082018237 – UK Power Networks).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on onenetwork.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection supply works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

Alternative route: via A414, A1014, B1838, A1060 and vice versa (with access only into B184).

The Order came into effect on 29th May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

**(Epping Lane, Theydon Mount)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025**

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Epping Lane, Theydon Mount in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 645m north east of its junction with Hobbs Cross Road for a distance of approximately 135m in a south easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th June 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX0510627918 – Affinity Water).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on onenetwork.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while meter exchange works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

Alternative route: via Epping Lane, London Road, Passingford Bridge Roundabout, Ongar Road, Abridge Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 29th May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
