Wiltshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Prohibitions & Restrictions

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A342 (Part), Calne Without, from its junction with Back Lane to its junction with C155 to enable Openreach to carry out poling works and other associated works.

Alternative route via A342 (unaffected length) – A3102 – A342 (unaffected length) and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 29 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 1 day.

A4 (Part), Chippenham, from its roundabout junction with Bath Road to its junction with Malmesbury Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway works and other associated works.

Alternative route: via A350 (unaffected length) – A420 – M4 – A350 (unaffected length) and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 01 July 2025 and the closures will be required 19:00 to 23:59 for 4 nights.

B4003, Avebury, from its junction with A4 to its junction with A361 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out installation of 52 hardwood bollards, minor re-grading and yellow lining works and other associated works.

Alternative route: via A361 – A4 and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 30 June 2025, closure 07:00 to 17:00 until 04 July 2025.

C153 (Part), Chippenham Without, from its junction with B4039 to its junction with A420 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out digital investigation works and other associated works.

Alternative route via A420 – B4039 and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 30 June 2025, closure between 09:30 and 15:00 for 2 days.

C76 (Part), Crudwell, from its junction with C83 for a distance of approx. 500m in a southeasterly direction.

Alternative route: C83 – C76 and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 03 July 2025 and the closure will be required between 09:00 and 15:00 for 1 day.

C83 (Part), Crudwell, from its junction with C76 for approx. 500m in a north easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works and associated works.

Alternative route: C76 – C83 – A429 – C76 and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 03 July 2025, closure between 09:00 and 15:00 for 1 day.

C1 (Part), Hullavington, from outside its property known as Station Masters House for approx. 98m to enable Openreach to carry out pole installation works.

Alternative route via C1 (unaffected length) – C27 – Hill Hayes Lane – C33 – C1 and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 12 June 2025, closure between 08:30 and 15:30 for 1 day.

A420 (Part), Chippenham Without, from its junction with Broad Lane to junction with C153.

Alternative route: A420 (unaffected) – A46 – A4 – A350 – A420 (unaffected) and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 11 June 2025, closures 19:00 to 06:00 for 3 nights.

Lyford Street (Part), Aldbourne, from outside property known as No. 20 Oxford Street to outside property known as No. 28 Oxford Street.

Alternative route via Oxford Street – Baydon Road – Lottage Road and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 10 June 2025, closure 07:00 to 19:00 for 1 day.

M1 Lowden (Part), Chippenham, from outside No. 81 to outside No. 83.

Alternative route via Lowden (unaffected length) – A4 – B4528 – Sheldon Road – Lowden (unaffected length).

This Order will come into operation on 09 June 2025, closure required for 2 days.

N Anstie Lane (Part), Shalbourne, from Bagshot Farm House for approx. 100m in a northerly direction to enable Openreach poling and other works.

Alternative route: via A338 and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 12 June 2025, closure between 08:00 and 18:00 for 5 days.

C166 (Part), Ashton St Quintin, from its junction with A429 for approx. 23m north-westerly to enable Wessex Water utility works.

Alternative route: via C166 (unaffected length) – A429 and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 09 June 2025, closure required between 08:00 and 16:00 for 1 day.

B4042 (Part), Royal Wootton Bassett and Lydiard Tregoze, from its roundabout junction with A3102 to B4042 junction with B4069.

Alternative route: A3102 (unaffected) – B4069 – A3102 (unaffected) and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on 07 June 2025, closure between 19:00 and 06:00 for 1 night.

C28 (Part), Lydiard Millicent, from junction with Park View Drive to junction with Forge Fields.

Alternative route via: C34 – C16 – C70 – C28 and vice versa.

This Order previously came into operation 07 April 2025, but will recommence on 09 June 2025, closure between 09:00 and 15:00 for 1 day.

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to temporarily close:

Footpath 16, Manningford: from its junction with Manor Lane to Wilcot Road, to enable essential infrastructure replacement.

Alternative route via existing highways and public rights of way.

Operates from 09 June to 12 September 2025.

Footpath 1 (Part), Devizes: from outside its junction with Ashbourne House approx. 100m south to St Johns Church, for maintenance to the bridge.
