What is happening?

(RESIDENTIAL STREETS) (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 20 [**]
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT The East Renfrewshire Council propose to make an order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which will introduce a 20mph speed limit on over 1,100 residential streets throughout the Council area.
The order will make it an offence for any person to drive a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20mph on the roads listed in the schedules of the Order.
A copy of the proposed Order, which will form the ‘The East Renfrewshire Council, (Residential Streets) (20mph Speed Limit) Order 20[**]’ and a statement of reason for proposing to make the Order can be viewed online within the East Renfrewshire Councils Traffic Notices section on the ‘Tell Me Scotland’ website: https://www.tellmescotland.gov.uk/notices.

Representations or objections to the proposal must be received by 6 July 2025
