Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Haringey on 30th May 2025 has made the above mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and gives notice under section 90a and 90c of the Highways Act 1980 and the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 to introduce continuous footway crossings at the junctions detailed below.

The general effect of the orders will be:

1. On Burghley Road N8:

(i) East Side: To revoke approximately 7 metres of existing No Waiting/Loading at any time restrictions from the junction with Turnpike Lane N8 and replace the adjacent disabled parking bay with approximately 6.3 metres of No Waiting/No Loading at any time. Both adjacent disabled parking bays will be relocated north by 8 metres, and each extended to a length of approximately 8.2 metres, replacing shared use Pay by Phone/Resident Permit Holders Only parking.

(ii) West Side:Revoke approximately 8 metres of No Waiting/No Loading at any time from the junction with Turnpike Lane and extend the adjacent Shared use Pay by Phone/Resident Permit Holders Only parking by 1.8 metres.

2. On Vernon Road N8:

(i) Both sides: Revoke approximately 6.5 metres of No Waiting/No Loading at any time from the junction with Turnpike Lane.

(ii) East Side: Replace 5.8 metres of shared use Pay by Phone/Resident Permit Holders Only parking closest to the junction with Turnpike Lane N8 with No Waiting/No Loading at any time.

3. On Waldegrave Road N8:

(i) East Side: To revoke approximately 6 metres of existing No Waiting/Loading at any time restrictions from the junction with Turnpike Lane N8 and replace 6.5 metres of the adjacent Shared Use Pay by Phone/Resident Permit Holders Only parking with No Waiting/No Loading at any time.

The above parking changes are required to facilitate the installation of three flat top road humps (continuous footway crossings) to facilitate improved pedestrian travel along the northern side of Turnpike Lane N8, as detailed below:

1. Burghley Road N8 at its junction with Turnpike Lane N8 – Carriageway width, with a maximum height of 125mm and maximum length of 5.1 metres.

2. Vernon Road N8 at its junction with Turnpike Lane N8 – Carriageway width, with a maximum height of 125mm and maximum length of 7.4 metres.

3. Waldegrave Road N8 at its junction with Turnpike Lane N8 – Carriageway width, with a maximum height of 125mm and maximum length of 5.4 metres.

Date of operation: The Orders will come into operation on 6th June 2025

An appointment can be made, by emailing traffic.orders@haringey.gov.uk to inspect the Orders during normal office hours at the reception desk of Alexandra House, 10 Station Road, Wood Green, N22 7TR within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, or can be viewed online at https://streets.appyway.com/haringey once operational.

Application to the high court:

Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it does not comply with the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
