Bankfield Road - Temporary Prohibition of Driving to Allow for Works to Clear Blocked Ducts in a Carriageway to Take Place

What is happening?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (BANKFIELD ROAD, WOODLEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2025 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Bankfield Road, Woodley between junctions of Hyde Road and Woodlands Drive, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. 

This Order is necessary to allow for works to clear blocked ducts in a carriageway to take place. It is estimated these works will last 3 days. A diversion will be provided via Hyde Road, Manor Road, Manor View, Bankfield Road, and vice versa. This Notice does not apply to any vehicle on any occasion when it is being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes. This Notice does not apply to pedestrians or pedal cycles. This Notice does not prevent local access. 

This Order is to come into operation on the 21 July 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
