What is happening?

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

(TRAFFIC REGULATION: RESTRICTIONS ON WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING, STOPPING AND PARKING PLACES) (VARIATION NO. _) ORDER 202_ - TRO/25/07

The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended to:

  1. Replace permit holder only bays with cycle hangars on Buckingham Ter, Comely Bank Gr, Crown St, Downfield Pl, East Claremont St, East Preston St, Gardner’s Cres, Glencairn Cres, Halmyre St, Murano Pl, Orwell Pl, Orwell Ter, Pilrig St, Pirrie St, Rankeillor St, Robertson Ave, Spey Ter, Springfield, Sprinfield La, Taylor Gdns, Thorntree St, Water St & Wellington St;
  2. Replace shared use parking bays with cycle hangars on Comely Bank Rd, Gardner’s Cres, Lindsay Rd, Nth Leith Mill, Queen Charlotte St, Stead’s Pl, Tytler Gdns & Westfield Rd
  3. Replace pay and display bays with cycle hangars on Edina Pl & Henderson Row;
  4. Replace 24/7 waiting restrictions with cycle hangars on Couper St, Largo Pl & Summerbank;
  5. Replace daytime waiting restrictions with a cycle hangar on Glencairn Cres;
  6. Amend 24/7 waiting restrictions on Taylor Gdns and
  7. Amend daytime waiting restrictions on Thorntree St.

Documents can also be viewed at Waverley Court Reception, 4 East Market St, Edinburgh, EH8 8BG between 9:30am & 3:30pm Mon-Fri during the same period. Objectors must complete the form found via the “Proposals in consultation” link referred to above, or state their reasons in writing quoting reference TRO/25/07 to Traffic Orders at the above address, not later than 27/6/2025. Objections should state the name and address of the objector. If you are responding to this consultation and your comments or objection relate to any specific location/s or element/s of the proposal, it would be helpful if you could identify them in your submission.
