Bull Park Ln - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(SHARD ROAD, SHARD LANE AND BULL PARK LANE, HAMBLETON, WYRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of
i. Shard Road from with Bull Park Lane to its junction with Old Bridge Lane
ii. Shard Lane from its junction with Shard Road to outside Property name White Acres
iii. Bull Park Lane from its junction with Shard Lane to outside property named Park Hill.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative nightly from 1900 hours until 0700 hours on Monday 23rd June 2025 until Monday 7th July 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Emergency services access will be maintained. Bus access with be maintained. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
i. Mains Lane – Garstang New Road – Garstang Road, Little Eccleston with Larbreck – Garstang Road, Great Eccleston - Blackpool Road – Garstang Road, St Micheals – Tarnacre Lane – The Avenue – Garstang By Pass Road – Lancaster New Road – Lancaster Road – Main Road – Preston Lancaster Road – Scotforth Road – Greaves Road – Ashton Road – Lancaster Road, Conder Green – Main Road – Lancaster Road, Cockerham – Marsh Lane – Sandside – Lancaster Road, Pilling – Head Dyke Lane – Burned House Lane – Hall Gate Lane – Mill Lane – Stricklands Lane – Carr Lane – Broadpool Lane – Green Meadow Lane – Shard Lane and vice versa
ii. Bull Park Lane access only
Rawcliffe Road – Town End – Whinn Lane – Mill Lane
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow resurfacing of the roundabout to be carried out.
