What is happening?
Notice – The Surrey County Council
Proposed 20mph and 30mph Speed Limit in B2133 Loxwood Road and D179 Rosemary Lane, Alfold
Surrey County Council propose to make “The Surrey County Council B2133 Loxwood Road and D179 Rosemary Lane, Alfold (20MPH and 30MPH Speed Limit) (Amendment and Part-Revocation) Order 202-” under Section 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to: -
1. Impose a maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour on the lengths of road specified and described in the First Schedule to this Notice.
2. Impose a maximum speed limit of 30 miles per hour on the length of road specified and described in the Second Schedule to this Notice.
3. The Surrey County Council (Built-Up Areas) (No.1) Order 1937” as amended by “The Surrey County Council (Built-Up Areas) (No.1) Order 1978” and any Previous Order and any Part to any Previous Order made or having effect as if made under Sections 81, 82, 83 and 84 of “the 1984 Act” and of all other enabling powers that impose any speed limit on the lengths of road described in the First Schedule to this Notice and that impose any speed limit on the length of road described in the Second Schedule to this Notice shall be revoked.
The speed limits proposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011.

(3) Reception, Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ, Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm. If you wish to object to, or make representations about, the proposed Order, including any in support, you must send them in writing, stating the grounds on which they are made,
a) using the online form via the webpage quoted above; or
b) to the undersigned, at Traffic Regulation Orders Team, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ, by 28 June 2025.
FIRST SCHEDULE
a) That length of B2133 Loxwood Road, Alfold that extends from a point 286.50m north of the county boundary of Surrey County Council with West Sussex County Council to a point 11.70m north of its junction with Hook Street (Alfold Business Centre) (a distance of approx. 530m).
b) The entire length of D179 Rosemary Lane, Alfold that extends from its junction with B2133 Loxwood Road, to X179 Rosemary Lane.
SECOND SCHEDULE
a) That length of B2133 Loxwood Road, Alfold that extends from the county boundary of Surrey County Council with West Sussex County Council for a distance of 286.50m (northbound).
Proposed Amendments to Waiting Restrictions in Alfold
Surrey County Council (“the Council”) proposes to make “The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Waverley) (Amendment of Waiting Loading and Unloading Prohibition and On-Street Parking Places Order) Order 202-” under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 49, 51 and 53 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to: - Amend “The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Waverley) (Revocation and Consolidation of Waiting Loading and Unloading Prohibitions and Restrictions) Order 2007” so as to prohibit the waiting by vehicles at any time in: -
a) That length of B2133 Loxwood Road, Alfold that extends (i) from its junction with Chapel Field Close, to the property boundary line between “The Magnolias” and “Alfold Post Office and Store”. (north side); (ii) from its junction with Cypress Grove to the northeastern property boundary of ”Fairleigh” (south side);
b) That length of the southern arm of D179 Rosemary Lane, Alfold (both sides) that extends from its junction with B2133 Loxwood Road, to its junction with the access road for “St Nicholas’s Church; and provide that the usual exceptions for loading and unloading vehicles, boarding and alighting from vehicles, for works on or adjoining the lengths of roads referred to in the said schedule, the maintenance of those roads and the services in them and for disabled persons vehicles in accordance with the Blue Badge Scheme, would apply.
Make certain amendments to the following existing Orders which impose waiting, loading and unloading and parking prohibitions and restrictions in the Borough of Waverley, which will not affect the operation of those prohibitions and restrictions: -

(4) The Surrey County Council Farnham Town Centre Controlled Parking Zone (Consolidation of Waiting Loading and Unloading Prohibitions and Restrictions and On-Street Parking Places) Order 2007
(5) The Surrey County Council Farnham Railway Station Controlled Parking Zone (Consolidation of Waiting Restrictions and On-Street Parking Places) Order 2007
(6) The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Waverley) (Residents’ Only On-Street Parking Places) (No.1) Order 2013
