What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED) Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC143551731: The City of Manchester (Hardman Street & Joddrell Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Hardman Street junction of Byrom Place to Joddrell Street & on Jodrell Street from Hardman Street to Atkinson Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: 1. Quay Street, Gartside Street, Bridge Street, Deansgate. 2. Quay Street, Peter Street, Southmill Street, Lloyd Street 3. Hardman Street, Deansgate, Atkinson Street, Byrom Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Window Cleaning & Gutter Cleaning / Repairs. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 10th June 2025 to 13th June 2025 between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 [Night Shifts]. The order shall come into operation on 10th June 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
ORDER NO. MCC143535768: The City of Manchester (Hemsley Street South, Harpurhey Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Hemsley Street South. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Moston Lane, Rochdale Road, Shepherd Street, Hemsley Street South. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Water Works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 7th June 2025 to 8th June 2025. The order shall come into operation on 7th June 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
ORDER NO. MCC143542924: The City of Manchester (Acomb Street, Moss Side Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Acomb Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Acomb Street, Haydn Avenue, Playfair Street, Moss Lane East. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Traffic Calming Measures. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 9th June 2025 to 13th June 2025. The order shall come into operation on 9th June 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
