(VARIOUS ROADS – SURFACE DRESSING) (TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (Various Roads – Surface Dressing) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 2 June 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 26th June 2025, as detailed in the Schedule below. The Order is required for surface dressing works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along those lengths of road in the Scottish Borders detailed in the Schedule below, between the hours of 07:30 and 17:30 on the specified dates.

Note: The dates for these closures are subject to minor changes due to the fact that these works are dependent on fair weather conditions. Advance warning signs will be erected advising of closure dates.

Closure 1

From 2 June 2025 for 1 day – A7 Edinburgh Road, Galashiels – from 20’s to 40’s.

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the A7, A6091, A68, A6106, A6094 and A7 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

Closure 2

From 3 June 2025 for 1 day – A7 Falahill – north of Heriot

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the A7, A6091, A68, A6106, A6094 and A7 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

Closure 3

From 4 June 2025 for 1 day – A703 Milkieston – north of Peebles

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the A703, A72, A701 and A703 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

Closure 4

From 5 June 2025 for 2 days – A6105 West Foulden to Burnbank

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the A6105, A6112, A1 and A6105 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

From 9 June 2025 for 1 day – C86 Bassendean

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the A6089 and A697 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

From 10 June 2025 for 2 days – B6400 Whitehouse to Ashieview, Ashkirk

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the B6400, B6359, A699, A68 and B6400 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

Closure 7

From 12 June 2025 for 2 days – B7009 Single to Gilmasncleuch

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the B7009, B709, A708, B7039 and B7009 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

Closure 8

From 16 June 2025 for 3 days – A708 Muchra

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the A708, A701, A72, A707 and A708 to point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

Closure 9

From 19 June 2025 for 1 day – B711 Buccleuch to Craighill

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the B711, B709, B7009, A707, A7 and B711 to point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

Closure 10

On 20 June and 23 June 2025 – B711 Alemoor

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the B711, B709, B7009, A707, A7 and B711 to point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

Closure 11

From 24 June 2025 for 2 days – D94/3 Letham

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the A6088 and A68 to point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.
