Waverton, Wigton - Temporary Road Closure due to Utility Works

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (ie. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the C2050 Waverton, near Wigton from its junction with the A596 to its junction with the A595.

A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the A595, B5304, South End, Wigton, B5302 and the A596.

The Order will come into operation on 16 June 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 5 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
