WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, BARROW-IN-FURNESS AREA)
(CONSOLIDATION AND PROVISION OF TRAFFIC REGULATIONS) ORDER 20<
1. Westmorland and Furness Council hereby give notice that it proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (4), 19, 32, 35, 35A, 38, 45, 46, 47, 49, 51, 53 and 64 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
(a) The Order will come into operation on > < and its effect will be to revoke, re-enact and consolidate the restrictions and provisions of The County of Cumbria (Various Roads, Barrow-in-Furness) (Consolidation of Traffic Regulations) Order 2024 and;-
(b) Introduce “No Waiting At Any Time” restrictions on parts of the following Roads in Barrow-in-Furness: - Dowie Close, Larch Rise, Moor Tarn Lane, Dalton Lane, Keppelwray Drive, Windrush Crescent, Roose Road, Biggar Bank Road, St Francis Gardens, Yarlside Road, Crozier Close, and Headland Rise.
(c) Introduce “No Waiting At Any Time” restrictions on parts of the following Roads in Dalton-in-Furness: - Ullswater Close, Broughton Road, Ainslie Street, Hollygate Road, Cemetery Hill, Esthwaite Drive, Station Road, and Station Approach.
(d) Introduce “No Waiting At Any Time” restrictions on parts of the following Roads in Askam-in-Furness:- Ireleth Brow, Parklands Drive, New Road, Ireleth Road, and Abbey Heights.
(e) Introduce “Prohibition of Waiting and Loading At Any Time” restrictions on junction of Duke Street /Blea Beck, Askam in Furness.
(f) Introduce Resident Parking Only and Time Limit Waiting on part of the Yarlside Road, Barrow-in-Furness.
(g) Introduce Prohibition of Stopping Mon - Fri 8am – 5pm on School Keep Clear markings restriction (yellow zig-zags) on Sandy Gap Lane, Barrow-in-Furness outside Walney School entrance.
(h) Introduce Prohibition of Waiting on School Days 08:30 – 09:15 and 2:45 – 3:45 restriction (single yellow line) on Ostley Bank, Barrow-in-Furness.
(i) Introduce Prohibition of Waiting and parking restrictions to allow for the introduction of new Disabled Bays on the following - Aberdeen Street, and Anchor Road, Barrow-in-Furness.
(j) Remove the “Limited Waiting Parking Place (At All Times) 10 mins no return within one hour (permit holders exempt)” restriction on part of Arthur Street, Marsh Street, and Sutherland Street, Barrow-in-Furness.
(k) Remove the “Limited Waiting Parking Place (At All Times) 2 hours no return within 2 hours (permit holders exempt)” restriction on part of Aberdare Street, and Anchor Road, Barrow-in-Furness.
(l) Remove the “Limited Waiting Parking Place Mon-Sat 8am-6pm 2 hours no Return within 2 hours” restriction on part of Sutherland Street, Crellin Street, Marsh Street and Arthur Street, Barrow-in-Furness.
(m) Remove the “Limited Waiting Parking Place Mon-Sat 8am-6pm 2 hours no return within 4 hours (permit holder exempt)” restriction on part of Anson Street and Greengate Street, Barrow-in-Furness.
(n) Remove the Long-Term Parking Place (At All Times) restriction on centre of Michaelson Road, Barrow-in-Furness.
(o) Remove the Prohibition of Waiting At Any Time restriction on part of Chatsworth Street, Thorncliffe Road, Park Lane, Crellin Street, Back Andover Street North, Arthur Street, Barrow-in-Furness.
(p) Remove the Prohibition of Waiting Mon-Sat 8am-6pm restriction on part of Back Arthur Street/ Sutherland Street and Back Marshall/ Arthur Street Barrow-in-Furness.
(q) Alter the extent of the existing Disabled Parking Bays (At All Times) on Stephen Street, Barrow-in-Furness to allow for the realignment of the rise table crossing.

3. Full details of the proposed Order, together with a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, will be on deposit for public inspection at:-
