What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
C399 WOODHORN ROAD ASHINGTON
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the C399 Woodhorn Road Ashington from its junction with U6508 Woodhorn Road Back heading in a north easterly direction for a length of 856 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 27th June 2025 until the 29th August 2025.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 2nd July 2025 until the 6th July 2025 between the hours of 09:30 & 15:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 29th August 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being the A197, A196, C399 and vice-versa. Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council to repair speed cushions that are in a dangerous condition. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
