Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 30 May 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Tithepit Shaw Lane (D1382) Warlingham between the access for the property known as “The Orchard” and the access for the property known as “Blossom Hill”.
Alternative Route – Tithepit Shaw Lane. The Order is required to allow SES Water to facilitate water mains work and all associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 days during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 16 June 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Hilltop Lane (D388) Chaldon
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Notice 2025
On 04 June 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 15(8)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“The Act”), the effect of which will be temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Hilltop Lane (D388) Chaldon.
The alternative route will be Rockshaw Road; A23 London Road North; Shepherds Hill; Alderstead Lane; Dean Lane; and Rook Lane.
The Order is required to allow telegraph pole replacement works and/or telecoms utility works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by or on behalf of BT Openreach within the length of road described in this Notice.
This Temporary Order commences on 07 June 2025 and continues in force the provisions introduced by “The Surrey County Council Hilltop Lane (D388) Chaldon Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Notice 2025” issued under S14(2) of The Act on 02 June 2025.
Advance warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for residents, the emergency services, cyclists and pedestrian will be maintained at all times.
During certain phases of the works vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24 hour period.
Pixham Lane (B2038) Dorking
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 04 June 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Pixham Lane (B2038) Dorking as extends from its roundabout with (A24) London Road to its junction with (D2856) Pixholme Grove.
Alternative Route: (B2038) Pixham Lane, (A25) Reigate Road, (A24) Deepdene Avenue, and (A24) London Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate telecom utility works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 9.30am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 16 June 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
The Crescent (B2122) Leatherhead
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 04 June 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of the south westbound carriageway of The Crescent (B2122) Leatherhead as extends from its junction with (B2122) Epsom Road to its junction with (D2537) Waverley Place.
Alternative Route: (1) (B2122) Epsom Road, (B2122) Leret Way, (A245) Bull Hill, (A245) Station Road, (B2122) Waterway Road, (B2122) Guildford Road, (A246) Young Street, (B2450) Dorking Road, (B2033) Church Street, and (B2122) The Crescent; (2) (B2122) The Crescent, (B2033) Church Street, (B2450) Dorking Road, (A24) By-Pass Road, and (B2122) Epsom Road.
This Order is required to facilitate spine cabling works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 nights, between the hours of 7pm and 5am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 16 June 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
All other traffic will be required to follow the alternative route described above.
Cromwell Road (A25) Redhill
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 04 June 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Cromwell Road (A25) Redhill as extends from its junction with (D1264) Huntingdon Road to its junction with “The Belfry Shopping Centre” car park exit point. Alternative Route: (A25) High Street, (A23) Marketfield Way, (A23) Princess Way, (A25) London Road, (A25) Queensway, (A25) Station Road, and (A25) St Matthews Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate mobile crane works for, or on behalf of DSM Contract Lifting.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 7am and 11am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 22 June 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians.
All other traffic will be required to follow the diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.4) 2025
On 4 June 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway works and/or carriageway asphalt preservation works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 9 June 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route.

D2558 Eastwick Drive, Bookham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 4 June 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D2558 Eastwick Drive, Bookham.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate carriageway asphalt preservation works and/or major maintenance works which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 16 June 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.5) 2025
On 4 June 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway slurry works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 9 June 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Albury Road (D1171) Merstham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Albury Road (D1171) Merstham between its junction with Manor Road (D1171) and the southern boundary for the property known as “25 Albury Road”.
Alternative Route – Manor Road or Chilberton Drive, Nutfield Road, Nutfield Marsh Road, Church Hill, A25 (Bletchingley Road), Big Common Lane, Pendell Road and Bletchingley Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable NGTUNNELLING.co.uk to facilitate a new sewer connection and all associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 weeks between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 30 June 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Bowerland Lane (D408) Lingfield
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Bowerland Lane (D408) Lingfield between the access for Crop Drier Works and the access for the property known as “Arden Green”.
Alternative Route – Crowhurst Road and Haxted Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate decayed telegraph pole replacement and all associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 days between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 30 June 2025.
Schedule
(a) that length of Station Avenue (B2030) Caterham as extends from its junction with (D1432 Harestone Valley Road to its junction at the roundabout with (B2208) Croydon Road, (B2030) The Square, and (B2030) Godstone Road. Alternative Route: Church Hill, Church Road, Whyteleafe Road, Burntwood Lane, Wapses Lodge Roundabout, and Croydon Road.
(b) that length of Croydon Road (B2208) Caterham as extends from its junction at the roundabout with (B2030) Station Avenue, (B2030) The Square, and (B2030) Godstone Road to a point 10 metres north of its junction with (D1430 Colin Road. Alternative Route: (1) Godstone Road (Southbound), A22 Caterham By-Pass (Northbound), Wapses Lodge Roundabout, and Croydon Road; (2) Croydon Road (Northbound), Wapses Lodge Roundabout, Burntwood Lane, Whyteleafe Road, Church Road, Church Hill, and Station Avenue.
(c) the entire length of Croydon Road (D1431) Caterham. There is no alternative route for this closure.
(d) that length of Mount Pleasant Road (D1430) Caterham at its junction with (B2208) Croydon Road. Alternative Route: Vehicles to enter/exit via Farningham Road.
(e) that length of Crescent Road (D1431) Caterham at its junction with (B2208) Croydon Road. Alternative Route: Vehicles to enter/exit via Timberhill Road.
C85 Dwelly Lane, Edenbridge
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to:-
(a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of C85 Dwelly Lane, Edenbridge which extends from its junction with Honeypot Lane to its junction with Haxted Road; and
(b) revoke part 18 of “Surrey County Council Various Roads in Tandridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.7) 2024” insofar as it relates Dwelly Lane only.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate surface dressing, pre-patching, carriageway surfacing and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 21 June 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Proposed Raised Signal-Controlled Pedestrian Facility
(Pedex Pedestrian Crossing)
in Kingston Road, Leatherhead
SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL in exercise of their powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Section 90(A) to (I) of the Highways Act 1980, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Section 23(2)(A) of the said Act of 1984, propose to upgrade the existing pelican crossing to a raised stand-alone signal-controlled pedestrian facility (Pedex Crossing) on Kingston Road (A245) Leatherhead.
As part of this scheme, the footways on the eastern and western sides of the road will also be widened.
The Pedex crossing will be located 18.5 metres south of the centre of its junction with Bay Tree Avenue on a new flat top road table.
The upgraded crossing will be 4m wide, centred on the new flat top road table that will extend over the full width of the road and will measure 75mm in height and 7.5m in length with 1.5m ramps (1:20 gradient), with a total length of 10.5m.

Proposed Provision of a Zebra Crossing and Traffic Calming Measures
on Chalkpit Lane (A2003) Dorking
SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL in exercise of their powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Section 90(A) to (I) of the Highways Act 1980, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Section 23(2)(A) of the said Act of 1984, propose to establish a zebra crossing with zigzag markings and introduce a pair of speed cushions to improve safety and reduce vehicle speeds on Chalkpit Lane (A2003) Dorking.
The width of the proposed zebra crossing will be 2.80m and the centre of the crossing will be located 18.5m north of the centreline of the junction with Station Road (C132).
The speed cushions will be two abreast and located at the common boundary between Numbers “24” and “26” Chalkpit Lane.
The cushions will be 2.0m in width, 75mm in height and 3.0m in length each with a flat top.
Main ramps will be 0.6m in length, with a gradient of 1:8. Side ramps will be 0.3m in length, with a gradient of 1:4.

Public Path Diversion Order 2025
The above order, made on 13 May 2025 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 19 81 will if confirmed, divert Public Footpath 178 (Capel) from OS Grid Ref. 516671 138884) due east for 65 metres, then turning south, then southeast, then southwest for 170 metres to reach point, continuing southwest for 97 metres to OS Grid Ref 516671 138685.
A copy of the Order and the Order Map have been placed and may be seen free of charge by appointment (Tel. 0300 200 1003) at Surrey County Council Offices, Whitebeam Lodge, Merrow Depot, Merrow Lane, Guildford (between 10.00am and 4.00pm from Monday to Friday) during opening hours.
