TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025
HORNE LANE, BEDFORD 25 – 021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Horne Lane, Bedford from St Pauls Square to Harpur Centre car park.
This temporary road closure is required to re align kerbs and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 21:00 to 05:00 hours from 23rd June 2025 to 28th June 2025.
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Midland Road, Prebend Street, Cauldwell Street, Kingsway, St Marys Street, High Street, The Embankment, St Pauls Square.
The reverse route applies.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025
SHAKERS WAY, STAPLOE 25 – 013
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, or pedestrian, or equestrian, from proceeding along the length of Shakers Way, Staploe.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate water mains replacement and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from 16th June 2025 to 20th June 2025.
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Bushmead Road, Gypsy Lane, Staploe Lane, Shakers Way.
The reverse route applies.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along Risborough Road, Bedford outside 57.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate new supply and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 17:00 hours from 2nd July 2025 to 4th July 2025.
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Risborough Road, Wendover Drive. The reverse route applies.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along that length of Park Avenue, Bedford from Forest Hill Road roundabout to the junction with
Kimbolton Road Bedford.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate ingress/egress extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is expected to be in operation between 22:00 to 23:45 hours each night 3rd, 5th, 6th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th July 2025.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from turning right into Park Avenue from De Parys Avenue This temporary right turn prohibition is required to facilitate the Bedford Summer Sessions Festival closures and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the
appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary right turn prohibition is anticipated to be in operation between 22:00 to 23:45 hours 3rd, 5th, 6th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th July 2025 each night for a period of 7 nights only or until the temporary right turn prohibition is no longer required, whichever is the earlier. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, NO waiting along those lengths as detailed below.
No waiting High Street Sharnbrook junction with Souldrop Road Sharnbrook.
No waiting at any time along the lengths of, Mill Road, Church Lane, Park Lane, High Street Colworth Road and Souldrop Road Sharnbrook.
The no waiting prohibition will not apply to emergency service traffic officer or maintenance vehicles.
These temporary no waiting zones are required to facilitate the ingress and egress of vehicular traffic for a music event and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs and are expected to be in operation between 10:00 to 23:59 hours 5th 6th 12th, 13th July 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along that length of Sharnbrook Road, Souldrop and Souldrop Road Sharnbrook.
These temporary road closures are required to facilitate ingress and egress for a music event and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
These temporary road closures are expected to be in operation between 10:00 to 23:59 hours 5th 6th 12th & 13th July 2025
The alternative routes available for vehicles affected by the proposed Order are:- Sharnbrook Road, Stocking Lane, Rushden Road, Templars Way, Kennell Hill, High Street, Souldrop Road.

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSE TO INTRODUCE
NEW PARKING RESTRICTIONS IN GOODMAYES CLOSE,
BEDFORD
Reason for Proposal: Following a request from Ward Councillors, due to the narrowness of Goodmayes Close Bedford Borough Council proposes to
introduce new parking restrictions to enable access by refuse vehicles (and potential emergency services), which currently experience difficulties due to vehicles parked on the carriageway.
Effect of the Proposal: 1. To introduce a ‘No waiting at any time’ restriction (double yellow lines) on the following length of road:-
A Goodmayes Close, Bedford (i) Commencing on its north-eastern side, extending from a point approx. 19.4 metres north-west of its junction with
Lovell Road in a north-westerly direction, around the turning head at its north-western end (in an anti-clockwise direction), then continuing on its south-western side in a south-easterly direction to a point in line with the projected north-western boundary of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Relevant proposal documents may be examined during normal office hours at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford, MK42 9AP.
They will also be available for viewing on the council’s website at www.bedford.gov.uk/proposedtro . The documents will be placed on deposit until 6 weeks after the Order is made or until it is decided not to continue with the proposal. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 22nd May 2025 Bedford Borough Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which is detailed below:-
Effect of the Order: 1. To introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following length of road: A King Street, Kempston
(i) On its western kerb, starting from the projected boundary between 2 and 2b King Street, Kempston for a distance of approx. 51 metres in a southerly direction. Date of Operation This Order will come into force on 27th May

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 22nd May 2025 Bedford Borough Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which is detailed below:- Effect of the Order:
1. To introduce a 40mph speed limit on the following length of road:
A Silver Street, Stevington
(i) Extending from a point approx. 400 metres southwest of the westernmost boundary of number 57 Silver Street (the end of the existing 40mph speed limit) for a distance of approx. 134 metres in a southerly direction.
Date of Operation: This Order will come into force on 27th May 2025 or as soon as practicable after this date.

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE
A 20MPH ZONE ON ROADS IN GREAT DENHAM
Reason for Proposal: Great Denham Parish Council have requested that the speed limit be reduced to 20mph throughout Great Denham, following
complaints from residents about speeding through the village.
The proposed 20mph Zone is intended to provide a safer road network for all highway users, including motor cyclists, pedal cyclists and pedestrians.
Effect of the Order:
1. To introduce a 20mph Zone covering the entire length of each of the following roads in Great Denham:- Greenkeepers Road, Lindsey Close, Masters
