NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF MODIFICATION ORDER SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY IN HERTFORDSHIRE (ANSTEY 21) MODIFICATION ORDER 2025
The above named Order, made on 30th January 2025, was confirmed without modification by Hertfordshire County Council on 15th May 2025.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement by adding the footpath running from Biggin Hill (public highway) at TL 3875 3308 then NE for approx. 120m to TL 3883 3317 then SE for approx. 280m to meet the Cave Gate to Barkway Road (public highway) at TL 3905 3299

The Order becomes operative as from the date on which it was confirmed, but if a person aggrieved by the Order desires to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, or any regulation made thereunder, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he may, under paragraph 12 of Schedule 15 of the Act within 42 days from 5th June 2025, make application for the purpose of the High Court.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF FOOTPATH WIDFORD 25
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council have made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit pedestrians from using that length of Footpath Widford 25, heading south and west from junction with Widford 26 to Widford 18, for an approximate distance of 625m.
Alternative route: via Widford 18/Wareside 84 Restricted Byway and Widford 18 Footpath
The purpose of the Order is to enable water course works to take place.
The section of Footpath will be closed on or after 09 June 2025 for up to 8 weeks, when signs are in place.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A414 HERTINGFORDBURY ROAD, HERTFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A414 Hertingfordbury Road, Hertford from its junction with the Willowmead/Campfield Road roundabout north eastwards for a distance of approximately 115m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via A414 (Hertingfordbury Road/Cole Green Bypass/ Hatfield Road), B1455 Holwell Lane, B158 (unnamed road/Lower Hatfield Road/Horns Mill Road/Pegs Lane/Hale Road) and A414 (Gascoyne Way/ Hertingfordbury Road).
The Order is needed because bridge inspection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 25 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF FRIARS ROAD, BRAUGHING) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Friars Road, Braughing from its junction with Braughing Public Bridleway No.017 south eastwards for a distance of approximately 250m (“the Road”), except for access.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 26 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Potters Green, Dane End from its junction with Rowney Lane south eastwards to its junction with Standon Green End, a distance of approximately 595m (“the Road”), except for access. An alternative route will be via Whitehill, Munden Road, Sacombe Pound, A602 Tonwell Bypass, Anchor Lane, Cambridge Road, High Road, Ermine Street and Standon Green End or via Standon Green End, Ermine Street, High Road, Cambridge Road, Anchor Lane, A602 (Tonwell Bypass/Ware Road), the A602 Watton at Stone Bypass roundabout, A602 (Ware Road/ Tonwell Bypass), Sacombe Pound, Munden Road and Whitehill.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 26 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Barwick Road, Standon from its junction with A120 Kents Lane south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 1200m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A120 Standon Hill, Ermine Street, Gore Lane and Barwick Road.
The Order is needed because utility service and tree cutting works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Green Lane, Braughing from its junction with Southfield south eastwards for a distance of approximately 90m (“the Road”).
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN CHESHUNT, GOFFS OAK AND HIGH CROSS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Albury Walk, Cheshunt from its junction with Woodcote Close north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
2. that length of Park View, Cheshunt from its junction with Cock Lane north eastwards and northwards to its junction with Rose Vale, a distance of approximately 345m.
An alternative route will be via Cock Lane, A1170 (High Street/Charlton Way/ Dinant Link Road), Amwell Street, Pauls Lane, Taverners Way, Lord Street and Rose Vale.
3. that length of Whitefields Road, Cheshunt from its junction with B156 Brookfield Lane West south eastwards, south westwards, southwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Church Lane, a distance of approximately 791m.
An alternative route will be via B156 (Brookfield Lane West/Flamstead End Road) and Church Lane.
4. that length of Crouch Lane, Goffs Oak from its junction with Argent Way south westwards, north westwards, westwards, southwards and south westwards to its junction with Newgatestreet Road, a distance of approximately 1372m.
An alternative route will be via Argent Way, Hammondstreet Road and Newgatestreet Road.
5. that length of Marshalls Lane, High Cross from its junction with High Road north westwards, south westwards, south eastwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Rowney Lane, a distance of approximately 2641m.
An alternative route will be via High Road, Cambridge Road, Anchor Lane, A602 Tonwell Bypass, Sacombe Pound and Sacombe Green Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HAMMONDSTREET ROAD, CHESHUNT) ORDER NO.2 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hammondstreet Road, Cheshunt from a point 245m south east of its junction with the Dahlia Close roundabout south eastwards for a distance of approximately 80m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Hammondstreet Road, Newgatestreet Road, B156 (Goffs Lane/Churchgate Road/Flamstead End Road), Flamstead End Road, Longfield Lane, Dig Dag Hill and Hammondstreet Road.
The Order is needed because utility service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Church Lane, Cheshunt from its junction with A10 Great Cambridge Road north westwards to its junction with Whitefields Road, a distance of approximately 130m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Church Lane, B176 (High Street/Turners Hill), B198 College Road, College Road, B156 Churchgate Road and Church Lane.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 10 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON B198 COLLEGE ROAD AND A10 GREAT CAMBRIDGE ROAD, CHESHUNT) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) will be:-
1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B198 College Road, Cheshunt from its junction with A10 Great Cambridge Road north eastwards to its junction with Blindmans Lane, a distance of approximately 167m, except for access.
An alternative route will be via A10 Great Cambridge Road, College Road, Churchgate, B156 Churchgate Road, Church Lane, B176 (High Street/ Turners Hill) and B198 College Road or via B198 College Road, B176 (Turners Hill/High Street), Church Lane and A10 London Road.
2. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from making left turn manoeuvre from the southbound carriageway of A10 Great Cambridge Road into B198 College Road, Cheshunt whilst works are in progress.
An alternative route will be via A10 Great Cambridge Road, College Road, Churchgate, B156 Churchgate Road, Church Lane, B176 (High Street/ Turners Hill) and B198 College Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) will be:-
1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from making a right turn manoeuvre from the southbound carriageway of A10 Great Cambridge Road into the westbound carriageway of Vancouver Road, Turnford, whilst works are in progress.
An alternative route will be via southbound carriageway of A10 Great Cambridge Road the B156 Halfhide Lane roundabout and northbound carriageway of A10 Great Cambridge Road.
2. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from making a left turn manoeuvre from the eastbound carriageway of Vancouver Road into the northbound carriageway of A10 Great Cambridge Road, Turnford whilst works are in progress.
An alternative route will be via southbound carriageway of A10 Great Cambridge Road, the B156 Halfhide Lane roundabout and northbound carriageway of A10 Great Cambridge Road.
3. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from making a right turn manoeuvre from the eastbound carriageway of Vancouver Road into the southbound carriageway of A10 Great Cambridge Road, Turnford, whilst works are in progress.
An alternative route will be via northbound carriageway of A10 Great Cambridge Road, the A10 Turnford Link Road/B176 High Street roundabout and the southbound carriageway of A10 Great Cambridge Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

An alternative route will be via Fore Street, Market Street, Railway Street and South Street or via South Street, Railway Street, Mill Road, A119 Ware Road and Fore Street.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 7 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
