What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14

THE M62 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 22 TO JUNCTION 23)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the M62 Motorway, in County of West Yorkshire, to enable ground investigation works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to start on Tuesday  1 July 2025 for 2 months, or until completed.

The effect of the order will be, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works, to close the layby adjacent to the M62 eastbound carriageway approximately 4506 metres east of the entry slip road at Junction 22 (Windy Hill), which will be used as an abnormal load holding area.

It will also be necessary, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to close the gap in the central reservation approximately 1287 metres east of the M62 eastbound entry slip road at Junction 22.

During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.

Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 30 June 2025 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. The project manager for this scheme is Lewis Chinchen.
