Bridleway Number 30 Murton Parish & Segregated Footpath - Temporary Bridleway and Segregated Footpath Closure

What is happening?

The County Council of Durham
(Bridleway Number 30 (Murton Parish),
and Segregated Footpath, Murton)
(Temporary Bridleway and Segregated Footpath
Closure) Order 2023

The above-named Order made by the Council on 3/11/2023, under section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and which became operational on 15/11/2023 and was subsequently extended to 31/5/2025 has been continued in force from 1/6/2025, as approved by the Secretary of State for Transport, until 31/8/2025 or until completion of the works, whichever is the earlier. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding Temporary Bridleway Closure No person shall cause or permit any traffic to proceed on the following length(s) of Bridleway: A) a 70 metre length Bridleway No.30 Murton Parish that extends westward from its junction with B1285 Temporary Segregated Footpath Closure No person shall cause or permit any pedestrian traffic to proceed on the following length(s) of segregated footpath: B) a 70 metre length of segregated footpath between A182/A19 southbound on-slip and Pemberton View to enable road improvement scheme works to be undertaken. An alternative route will be available to pedestrian traffic from the A) South eastern side of the bridleway closure from B1285 / A182 Roundabout westerly on Spring Road, north on Bridleway No.30 onto Footpath No.18 and continuing north past the Glebe Centre to B1285, then easterly to the northern side of the closure, and vice versa B) South eastern side of the closure north via the footway of B1432, then easterly via the former railway path to Hawthorn Public Footpath No.9, then south to A182 to the north western side of the closure and vice versa.
