What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
C4 SHORESDEAN JUNCTION
TO THORNTON PARK JUNCTION THORNTON
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the C4 Shoresdean Junction To Thornton Park Junction from its junction with U13 heading in a westerly direction for a length of 82 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 23rd June 2025 until the 12th July 2025.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 23rd June 2025 until the 26th June 2025 between the hours of 09:30 until 15:30 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 12th July 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being C4, A698, C8, B6354, U13 and viceversa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by PMK Civil Engineering on behalf of Scottish Power to dig out joint boxes and carry out a road crossing to transfer services from an overhead line.
In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
