NOTICE is hereby given that the City of Doncaster Council
intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to
make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic
(Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 because works are being
or proposed to be executed on or near the road and the effect
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in that length
of Thorpe Bank at Thorpe In Balne in the City of Doncaster
District and suspend the weight restriction as described in the
Schedule to this notice on the dates and times referred to in
the said Schedule.
Reason for closure: To ensure the safety of the public and the
workforce whilst concrete repair works to the flood wall on
behalf of the Environment Agency are undertaken.
NOTICE is also given that the alternative route for vehicles
affected by the Order is via Marsh Road, Moss Lane,
Trumfleet Lane, Moss Road, Thompson Terrace, Station Road,
High Street, Doncaster Road, Askern Road, Arksey Lane,
Almholme Lane, Fordstead Lane, Thorpe Bank and vice versa.

1) Thorpe Bank, Thorpe in Balne from its junction with Thorpe
Lane in a southerly direction for 155 meters.
2) Suspend the 7.5 tonne weight restriction on Fordstead
Lane from its junction with Thorpe Bank to its junction with
Marsh Lane that form part of the diversion route.
Dates and Times
07:00hrs 16th June 2025 until 17:00hrs 17th June 2025
In the event of engineering difficulties and/or adverse weather
conditions, the closure may extend beyond this date although
all closures to be completed by the 30th June 2025.

TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
EXTENSION NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the above named Order made by
City of Doncaster Council on the 1st day of May 2025 which

came into force on the 6th day of May 2025 has been
continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State
for Transport under section 15(3) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic
(Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 up to and including the
31st day of August 2025. The Order would otherwise have
expired on the 8th day of June 2025.
The Order was made to ensure the safety of the public and
the workforce whilst S278 reconstruction of a bell mouth into
site, carriageway re-construction and footway remedials are
undertaken.
Reason for the extension of the temporary order is that Aptus
are due on site at the end of May. They are programmed to
complete the water plot connections on Fairfield Road and
therefore will need to excavate within the existing footway. C3
are contracted to reconstruct this area and therefore can’t
commence until this has been completed and Aptus are off
the network.
NOTICE is also given that the alternative route for vehicles
affected by the Order is via Watch House Lane, York Road,
Halifax Crescent, Fairfield Road.

Notice is hereby given that on the 4th day of June 2025 the
City of Doncaster Council made an Order under the
provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984.
The effect of the Order that will come into operation on the
9th day of June 2025 will be to:
(i) remove the existing 50mph speed limit on the following
roads:
That length of the Great North Road at Rossington which
extends from 38 metres south of its junction with Plumpton
Park Road in a southerly direction to its junction with the
A6182 Great Yorkshire Way
(ii) introduce a 50 mph speed limit on the following roads:
That length of the A638 Bawtry Road which extends from a
point 38 metres southeast of its junction with Plumpton Park
Road to its junction with the A6182 Great Yorkshire Way in a
generally southeasterly direction
The effect of the order will not result in any visible changes on
street
