What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD
(DUNSTON ROAD BACK/THE NEW COLLINGWOOD PH, DUNSTON) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that on 04 June 2025 the Borough Council of Gateshead made an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Dunston Road Back/The New Collingwood PH from its junction with Wellington Road from Ravensworth Road to St. Omers Road in a northerly direction for 20 metres. The Order is required to facilitate Openreach BT works in the carriageway. The Order will come into force on 09 June 2025. The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months; however, the works are expected to be completed by 12 June 2025. During the works all vehicles (except vehicles associated with the works and emergency service vehicles on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding along the above road until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibition there will be a signed diversion in place.
