A449, Massington, Herefordshire - Temporary Road Closure due to Parapet Repair Works
What is happening?
Notice of Intention
NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the following Order:
A449 From Halfway House To Wellington Inn, Massington, Temporary Road Closure Order,
to temporarily prohibit the use by vehicles on the A449 From Halfway House To Wellington Inn, Massington, 50 metres either side of Massington bridge. Grid Ref: 373126/239582. The alternative route for those affected by the proposal is via the A449 onto the the A4104, onto the B4208, onto the A438, onto the A449 and vice versa.
The said closure is required due to parapet repair works and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place. The said closure will come into force on 15th of June 2025 and remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State) but the works are expected to be completed within 2 nights (15th June & 6th July).
