What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATHS

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (MANSFIELD FOOTPATH NO.16 CONTINUING AS SUTTON IN ASHFIELD FOOTPATH NO.73) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-

No person shall:-

(a) proceed on foot

in the following length of Footpath at Mansfield/Sutton in Ashfield in the District of Mansfield and Ashfield: -

Mansfield Footpath No.16 continuing as Sutton in Ashfield Footpath No.73 in their entireties.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:-

From Monday, 9th June 2025 until Monday, 8th December 2025 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative routes will be via pavement alongside the A6057 road and vice versa.

The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out or in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath. It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.

The prohibition is required to enable construction of approved housing development.

THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED

THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 4TH DAY OF JUNE 2025.
