High Street - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (High Street) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.98) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 18th June 2025 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
HIGH STREET (SOUTHBOUND)
From its junction with Vectis Way to Cosham Park Avenue.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate Openreach works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 18th June 2025 to 20th June 2025 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between 19:00 to 23:00.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Vectis Way, Wootton Street, Wayte Street, Medina Road Roundabout, Northern Road, Portsmouth Road, High Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
