RHODDIR DRWY HYN RYBUDD fod Cyngor Gwynedd wedi gwneud Gorchymyn sydd yn gwahardd unrhyw berson rhag peri i unrhyw gerbyd fynd mewn unrhyw gyfeiriad ar hyd y darn hwnnw o’r Ffordd Di-Ddosbarth a adwaenir fel Stryd Wesla, Porthmadog o bwynt ger ei gyffordd gyda’r Stryd Fawr (A497) gan deithio mewn cyfeiriad gogledd ddwyreniol hyd at y gyffordd gyda Lôn Bopty, Porthmadog.

Mae angen y Gorchymyn ar sail iechyd a diogelwch i’r cyhoedd yn ystod gwaith gosod pibell nwy.

Y ffordd arall yw teithio mewn cyfeiriad gogledd orllewinol ar y Stryd Fawr (A497) yna cymryd y 3ydd allanfa yn y gylchfan i deithio mewn cyfeiriad gogledd ddwyreiniol ar Heol Newydd. 

Yn y gyffordd gyda Heol Fadog, troi i’r dde i deithio mewn cyfeiriad de ddwyreiniol hyd at y caead ac i’r gwrthwyneb ar gyfer cerbydau sydd yn teithio i’r cyfeiriad arall. Bydd mynediad ar gael i drigolion.

Daeth y Gorchymyn i rym ar yr 2il o Fehefin 2025 a bydd yn parhau mewn grym am gyfnod na fydd hwy na un mis neu hyd nes y cwblheir y gwaith y bwriedir ei wneud ar y ffordd, pa un bynnag fyddo gyntaf. Ar hyn o bryd disgwylir y gellir cwblhau’r gwaith o fewn tua 7 diwrnod.

(Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2025 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Gwynedd Council have made an Order, the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed in either direction along that length of Unclassified Road known as Chapel Street, Porthmadog from its junction with the High Street (A497) travelling north easterly up to the junction with Bakers Lane, Porthmadog.

The Order is necessary on health and safety grounds to the public during gas mains replacement works.

The alternative route is to travel north westerly on the High Street (A497) then take the 3rd exit at the roundabout to travel north easterly on New Street. 

At the junction with Madog Street, turn right to travel south easterly up to the closure and vice versa for vehicles travelling in the opposite direction. Access will be maintained for residents.

The Order came into effect on the 2nd of June, 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding one month or until the work which it is proposed to carry out on the road is completed, whichever is the earlier. 

At this stage it is anticipated that the work will be completed within approximately 7 days.
