What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) A3102 (Part), Royal Wootton Bassett; from its junction with Wood Street for a distance of approximately 70m in a south westerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out works to replace a cover and frame and associated works. Alternative route via A3102 (unaffected length) – New Road – Station Road – Nore Marsh Road – Bincknoll Lane – A3102 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 22 June 2025 and the closure will be required for 1 day. For further information please contact Wessex Water on 0345 6004600.

B) Deansway (Part), Chippenham; from its property known as No.15 Deansway for a distance of approximately 28m in a north easterly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out trenching works and other associated works. Alternative route via Deansway (unaffected length) – Oaklands – Hill Corner Road – Malmesbury Road – Deansway (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 for 5 days. C) Longleaze (Part), Royal Wootton Bassett; from its junction with A3102 for a distance of approximately 110m in a south easterly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway reconfiguration works and other associated works. Alternative route via Longleaze (unaffected length) – Stoneover Lane – Marlowe Way – A3102 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 for 3 days. D) The Street (Part), Cherhill; from its junction with Mill Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in an easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out works to clear blockages, install a connection and other associated works. Alternative route via The Street (unaffected length) – Park Lane – Main Road – Olivers Hill – The Street (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. E) C52 (Part), Manningford; from its junction with Mill Road for a distance of approximately 265m in a southerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out water main replacement and associated works. Alternative route via C52 (unaffected length) – A345 – C52 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 June 2025 and the closure will be required until 28 July 2025. F) Argyle Drive (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with Footpath 114, Chippenham for a distance of approximately 30m in an easterly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out frame cover repair and replacement works and other associated works. Alternative route via Argyle Drive (unaffected length) – Sutherland Crescent and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 June 2025 and the closure will be required for 2 days. G) A345 (Part), Upavon; from its junction with the A342 to its junction with Jarvis Street to enable Openreach to carry out safe access to works of engineering interest. Alternative route via A345 (unaffected length) – B3087 – A338 – A342 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 24 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. H) Castle Lane (Part), Devizes; from its junction with Market Place for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out permanent reinstatement in the carriageway and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 24 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00 for 2 days. I) C52 (Part), Manningford, Wilcot, Huish and Oare; from its junction with C261 for a distance of approximately 303m in a northerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out poling works. This Order will come into operation on 23 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. J) C15 (Part), Clyffe Pypard; from outside its property known as No.22 Withy Bed for a distance of approximately 113m in a north easterly direction to enable Thames Water to carry out ferrule plug works and other associated works. Alternative route via C15 (unaffected length) – C415 – C121 – C120 – C15 (unaffected length) and vice versa. K) C70 (Part), Lydiard Millicent; from its junction with The Crescent to its junction with C16 to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works and other associated works. This Order will come into operation on 06 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00 for 1 day. L) C50 (Part), Bishops Cannings; from its junction with Pig Lane for a distance of approximately 214m in a south easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out overhead cabling works and other associated works. Alternative route via C50 (unaffected length) – Puddles Lane – Coate Road – Windsor Drive – London Road – Horton Road – C50 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 04 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. M) C189 (Part), Aldbourne; from outside its property known as Whitepond for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction to enable Thames Water to carry out ferrule exchange in carriageway. Alternative route via B4192 – B4001 – Ermin Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 03 June 2025 and the closure will be required for 3 days. N) C104 (Part), Brinkworth; from its junction with B4042 to its junction with C106 to enable Openreach to carry out pole works and other associated works. Alternative route via C106 – C88 – B4042 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 03 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. O) C202 (Part), Oaksey; from outside its property known as May Cottage for a distance of approximately 338m in a south easterly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer cleaning and surveying works and other associated works. P) Hill Hayes Lane (Part), Hullavington; from its junction with Belfry Drive to its junction with The Street to enable Openreach to carry out overhead cabling works and other associated works. This Order will come into operation on 05 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. Q) C71 (Part), Grittleton and Nettleton; from its junction with B4039 to its junction with UC 817802 to enable Openreach to carry out excavation works and other associated works. Alternative route via C71 (unaffected length) – C160 – C151 – B4039 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 03 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 until 09 June 2025. R) Farm Lane (Part), Great Bedwyn; from outside its property known as No.04 Farm Lane for a distance of approximately 11m in a south westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out foul water connection works and other associated works. Alternative route via Farm Lane (unaffected length) – Brook Street – The Knapp – Farm Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 02 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 for 4 days. S) Littlecote Road (Part), Chippenham; from outside its property known as No.05 Littlecote Road to outside its property known as No.09 Littlecote Road to enable Wessex Water to carry out frame repair and replacement works and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 02 June 2025 and the closure will be required for 2 days. T) Gloucester Road (Part), Malmesbury; from its junction with B4040 to its junction with St Marys Lane.

U) St Marys Street, Malmesbury; from its junction with Gloucester Road to its junction with West Street to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway works and other associated works. Alternative route via Gloucester Road (unaffected length) – Park Road – Old Alexander Road – Parklands – Sherston Road – Harpers Lane – Bristol Street – The Triangle and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 03 June 2025 and the closures will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 for 3 days. For further information please contact Wiltshire Council.

V) C70 (Part), Leigh; from its junction with Slow Lane for a distance of approximately 790m in a south easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole testing and other associated works. Alternative route via C70 (unaffected length) – B4040 – Ashton Road – High Road – Happy Land – C70 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 03 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. For further information please contact Openreach.

W) C70 (Part), Cricklade; from its property known as Shangri La for a distance of approximately 36m in a south easterly direction to enable Thames Water to carry out ferrule plug works and other associated works. Alternative route via C70 (unaffected length) – B4553 – The Forty – Chelworth Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 03 June 2025 and the closure will be required for 3 days. X) Five Thorn Lane (Part), Seagry; from its junction with C82 for a distance of approximately 70m in a north easterly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out bobcat patching works and other associated works. Alternative route via Five Thorn Lane (unaffected length) – C66 – C82 and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 14 April 2025 will now recommence on 02 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. Orders A) to W) will have a maximum duration of 18 months, Order X) has a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses whenever possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Orders to Temporarily introduce a 30mph speed restriction on the following length of roads:

A) A350 (Part), Chippenham and Chippenham Without; from its roundabout junction with A420 for a distance of approximately 140m in a south westerly direction.

B) A350 (Part), Chippenham and Chippenham Without; from its roundabout junction with A420 for a distance of approximately 120m in a northerly direction.

C) A420 (Part), Chippenham Without; from its roundabout junction with A350 for a distance of approximately 170m in a westerly direction.

D) A420 (Part), Chippenham; from its roundabout junction with A350 for a distance of approximately 120m in an easterly direction.

And to temporarily introduce a 40mph speed restriction on the following length of road:

E) A350 (Part), Chippenham, Chippenham Without, Corsham and Lacock; from a point approximately 140m south of its roundabout junction with A420 to a point approximately 100m south of its roundabout junction with B4528 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out the implementation of narrow lanes to allow new carriageway construction and other associated works. The speed restrictions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This speed limit restrictions will come into operation on 02 June 2025 and will be required until 01 December 2026. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months. SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all users:

Footpath 55 (Part), St Paul Malmesbury Without; from its junction with Grange Lane for a distance of approximately 100m in a westerly direction to enable temporary construction compound to provide storage and welfare facilities for essential works at Rodbourne Water Treatment Centre (WTC) to the north to resolve historic issues with turbidity which have resulted in water supply outages. Alternative route via diversion as sign posted and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This Order will come into operation on 02 June 2025 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 02 December 2025. Access will be maintained where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months. NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 AND WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL PARISH OF CHIPPENHAM 1 DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

On 19 May 2025 Wiltshire Council confirmed the above order under section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert path Chippenham 1, leading from OSGR ST 9140-7129, heading in a south south westerly direction, for approximately 329m to OSGR ST 9128-7100, to a new route leading from OSGR ST 9140-7129, heading in a southerly then westerly direction, for approximately 473m to OSGR ST 9128-7100, having a width of 3m.

Thereupon the Calne and Chippenham Rural District Council Area Definitive Map and Statement dated 1953 shall be modified accordingly. A copy of the order and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Rights of Way and Countryside, Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, BA14 8JN from 9am to 5pm on Monday to Friday. This order comes into force on the date on which Wiltshire Council certify that the terms of Article 2 of the order have been complied with, but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraphs 7 and 8 of Schedule 14 to that Act.
