What is happening?

Highways

 

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

ASHFORD AREA

 

A28 Chart Road, Ashford, TN23 3HZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow rail works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A28 Chart Road, Ashford, from 29th June 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 07:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the rail bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic westbound is via A28 Chart Road, Chart Road Roundabout, A28 Templer Way, Simone Weil Roundabout, A292 Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Warren Lane, Maidstone Road, New Street and Chart Road.

The alternative route for any through traffic eastbound is via A28 Chart Road, A292 Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Simone Weil Roundabout, A28 Templer Way, Chart Road Roundabout and Chart Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

A2042 Victoria Road, Ashford, TN23 4AH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow mobile crane works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic, in phases, on part of A2042 Victoria Road, Ashford, between the hours of 06:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

Phase 1 The works will take place from 14th June 2025, with estimated completion by 15th June 2025.

Phase 2 The works will take place from 21st June 2025, with estimated completion by 22nd June 2025.

The road will be closed near to the junctions with Gasworks Lane and Leacon Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Leacon Road, B2229 Brookfield Road, Beaver Lane, Beaver Road, Norman Road, Romney Marsh Road, Avenue Jacques Faucheux and Victoria Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bedlam Lane & Headcorn Road, Smarden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow tree surgery works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bedlam Lane & Headcorn Road, Smarden, from 23rd June 2025, with estimated completion by 27th June 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The roads will be closed between Sun Patch Farm and Burnt House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Smarden Road, Biddenden Road, Bell Lane, Mundy Bois Road, Forstal Road, Bedlam Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Blackwall Road, Wye. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow fire hydrant replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Blackwall Road, Wye, from 9th June 2025, with estimated completion by 13th June 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Bungalow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Blackwall Road, Blackwall Road South, A2070 Kennington Road, Willesborough Interchange, A2070 M20 J10 Roundabout, A20 Hythe Road, Honeysuckle Avenue, Hinxhill Road, Goodcheap Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Chilmington Green Road, Great Chart. (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION)) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow new electrical connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of Chilmington Green Road, Great Chart, from 13th June 2025, with estimated completion by 18th June 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The temporary 30 mph speed restriction on Chilmington Green Road will be imposed at the junction with A28 Ashford Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

Faversham Road, Charing, TN27 0NS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow carriageway repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Faversham Road, Charing, from 12th June 2025, with estimated completion by 13th June 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Faversham Road, A252 Canterbury Road, A251 Faversham Road, Ashford Road, Broomfield Lane, Faversham Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Godinton Road, Ashford, TN23 1LS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow manhole works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Godinton Road, Ashford, from 24th June 2025, with estimated completion by 26th June 2025, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between West Street Roundabout and the junction with James Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Harbourne Lane, High Halden, TN26 3JD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow excavation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Harbourne Lane, High Halden, from 9th June 2025, with estimated completion by 20th June 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Bachelors Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Harbourne Lane, Church Hill, A28 Ashford Road, Heather Drive, Swain Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Kennington Place, Ashford, TN24 9AF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow road crossing and joint bay works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Kennington Place, Ashford, from 23rd June 2025, with estimated completion by 27th June 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 3, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Leacon Lane, Charing, TN27 0EH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Leacon Lane, Charing, from 24th June 2025, with estimated completion by 26th June 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Rose Rest, Westwell Leacon, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A20 Ashford Road, Maidstone Road, Station Road, Pluckley Road, Leacon Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Lees Road, Brabourne. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lees Road, Brabourne, from 9th June 2025, with estimated completion by 10th June 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the properties Fairhaven and Bircholt Corner Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lees Road, Manor Pound Lane, Canterbury Road, Plain Road, Bridge Road, Lees Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Little Chart Road, Little Chart. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Little Chart Road, Little Chart, from 9th June 2025, with estimated completion by 21st June 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Rooting Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Little Chart Road, Swan Lane, Charing Road, Pluckley Road, Station Road, A20 Ashford Road, Maidstone Road, Cades Road, Watery Lane, School Road, West Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Naccolt Road, Wye. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Naccolt Road, Wye, from 11th June 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Spelders Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Spelders Hill, The Street, Amage Road, Coldharbour Lane, Scotton Street, Upper Bridge Street, Oxenturn Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

New Road & Harmers Way, Egerton. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow installation and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of New Road & Harmers Way, Egerton, from 9th June 2025, with estimated completion by 19th June 2025, or until the works have been completed.

New Road will be closed between the junction with Stevens Close and the property Buttermere, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Harmers Way will be closed between number 14 and the junction with New Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Rock Hill Road, Mundy Bois Road, C86 Mundy Bois Road Junction With C146 Pinnock Road To Junction With Green Hill Lane, The Pinnock, Smarden Road, Forge Hill, Egerton Road and New Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Quarrington Lane, Brabourne, TN25 5NF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Quarrington Lane, Brabourne, from 23rd June 2025, with estimated completion by 27th June 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the property Californian Barn, West Brabourne, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Plumpton, Bockham Lane, Quarrington Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

The Green, Woodchurch, TN26 3PB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Green, Woodchurch, from 23rd June 2025, with estimated completion by 27th June 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 37, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Road and Front Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

The Martins, High Halden, TN26 3LD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2025

To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Martins, High Halden, from 23rd June 2025, with estimated completion by 2nd July 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 9, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
