What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Radipole Lane, Weymouth
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along RADIPOLE LANE, WEYMOUTH between its junction with Wessex roundabout and its junction with Cumberland Drive, a distance of approximately 325 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 2 June 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 27 June 2025.
This Order will enable SGN, safe access to carry out an upgrade of gas main.
An alternative route will be signed using: B3157 - B3156 - B3158

Temporary Traffic Management Order, B3142, Puddletown
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 17 June 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 30 June 2025. Please note working times will be between the hours of 5am and 5pm, works will not take place at night, over the weekend or on Bank Holidays.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out surface dressing works.
The effect of this Order will be:
[1] To impose temporary road closure on B3142 Puddletown between its junctions with the B3143 and Northbrook roundabout
[2] To impose temporary clearway on B3142 Puddletown between its junctions with the B3143 and Northbrook roundabout to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works
Any vehicle in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. If a vehicle has been towed the owner will need to contact our towing contractors Ashleywood Recovery Ltd/Bride Valley Recovery Ltd on 01305 889421.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 16th June 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 27th June 2025.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

To impose a temporary speed restriction of 10mph to facilitate the use of a convoy working vehicle along B3390, Affpuddle & Turnerspuddle from junction with C79 Southover Lane to a point 40 metres to the south of Sares Wood Road (in both directions), a distance of approximately 1530 metres.

To impose clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along B3390, Affpuddle & Turnerspuddle from junction with C79 Southover Lane to a point 40 metres to the south of Sares Wood Road (in both directions), a distance of approximately 1530 metres. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

It will come into operation on 12th June 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 25th June 2025.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

The effect of the Order will be:

To impose temporary road closure on Icen Way from its junction with High East Street for a distance of approximately 10 metres.
This closure will be in place between 2 – 6 June 2025.

To impose temporary road closure on Friary Lane from its junction with the access to the private car park at the rear of Woods Furniture to its junction with High East Street.
This closure will be in place between 2 June – 18 July 2025.

To revoke one way system on Friary Lane from its junction with Orchard Street to its junction with the access to the private car park at the rear of Woods Furniture.

To impose temporary two way traffic flow on Friary Lane from its junction with Orchard Street to its junction with the access to the private car park at the rear of Woods Furniture to enable access for residents and businesses only.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Traffic Management Order of Various Roads, Granby Industrial Estate, Weymouth – Night Works
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 16 June 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 5 July 2025.
The road will be closed at night between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00, and will re-open to traffic daily and at weekends.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out essential highway maintenance works.
The effect of this Order will be:

To impose temporary road closure on Hampshire Road from its junction with the access road to the Dorset Echo offices to where it meets with Cumberland Drive.

To impose temporary road closure on Cumberland Drive from where it meets with Hampshire Road to its junction with the access road to the Land Registry offices.

To impose temporary clearway on Hampshire Road from its junction with the access road to the Dorset Echo offices to where it meets with Cumberland Drive.

To impose temporary clearway on Cumberland Drive from where it meets with Hampshire Road to its junction with the access road to the Land Registry offices.
Please note that any vehicle waiting in contravention of temporary parking restrictions may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. If a vehicle has been removed, the owner must contact the Council’s vehicle recovery contractor:

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath 19, Portland
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Public Footpath 19 from grid reference SY 697 711 to grid reference SY 6973 1057, a distance of approximately 185 metres.
The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 6 June 2025 for a period of 26 weeks and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.
This Order is required for health and safety reasons due to increased frequency of rock falls in the area.
An alternative route will be put in place to avoid the closed section of footpath.

To impose temporary road closure on Millers Close from its junction with The Grove for a distance of approximately 50 metres on Sunday 8 June 2025 between 0900 and 2300.

To impose temporary road closure on The Grove from its junction with School Lane to its junction with Burton Road between 16 June 2025 and 20 June 2025, 1900 - 0700 – NIGHT WORKS.

To impose temporary road closure on the B3147 from its junction with Millers Close to its junction with the lay-by to the north between 16 June 2025 and 20 June 2025, 1900 - 0700 – NIGHT WORKS.

To impose temporary road closure on Burton Road from its junction with the B3147 to the bridge between 16 June 2025 and 20 June 2025, 1900 - 0700 – NIGHT WORKS.

To impose temporary road closure on Northenrhay at its junction with The Grove between 16 June 2025 and 20 June 2025, 1900 - 0700 – NIGHT WORKS.
There will be temporary multi-way signals in place on The Grove between 9 June 2025 and 15 June 2025.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed.
