What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) C263 (Part), Chute Forest; from its junction with Roundaway Lane for a distance of approximately 956m in a southerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement. Alternative route via Tangley Bottom Road – Roundaway Copse Lane – Lone Ash Hill – Hatherden Lane – Foxcotte Lane – Hatherden Road – Foxcotte Road – Penton Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 1 day. For further information please contact Openreach on 08000859194.

B) C263 (Part), Chute Forest; from its junction with Roundaway Lane for a distance of approximately 956m in a southerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement. C) Milton Road (Part), Amesbury; from its western junction with Cadnam Crescent for a distance of approximately 126m in a westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out to provide a safe working area for engineers to access underground structure in order to provide fibre underground cabling. Alternative route via Cadnam Crescent and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 2 days. D) C12 (Part), Coombe Bissett and Odstock; from its junction with C339 to its junction with C328 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overrun repairs and associated works. Alternative route via C328 – A345 – C339 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:30 and 17:00 until 04 July 2025. E) Barnes Wallis Close, Amesbury; from its junction with Raleigh Crescent for its entire length to enable Openreach to carry out installation of new customer service and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 24 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 for 2 days. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

F) UC 993103 (Part), Teffont; for a distance of approximately 100m covering the level crossing to enable Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd to carry out level crossing and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 07 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 23:00 and 07:00 for 1 night. G) C336 (Part), Clarendon Park and Alderbury; from its junction with C324 to its junction with Silver Street to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overrun and associated works. Alternative route via C336 (unaffected length) – Folly Lane – C324 – C336 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 02 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 until 06 June 2025. H) Clarendon Road (Part), Alderbury and Grimstead; from its junction with Withchers Meadow to its junction with Luecwood Lane to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out tree cutting and associated works. Alternative route via Green Drove – Crockford Road – Grimstead Road – Old Southampton Road – Clarendon Road (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 02 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. I) Castle Street (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with A36 to its junction with Hamilton Road to enable Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd to carry out railway bridge repairs and associated works. Alternative route northbound via A36 – A338 – Exeter Street – St Johns Street – New Canal – High Street – Silver Street – Minster Street – Castle Street (unaffected length). Alternative route southbound via Castle Street (unaffected length) – Blue Boar Row – Winchester Street – Brown Street – St Anns Street – Exeter Street – A338 – A36. This Order will come into operation on 06 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 for 3 nights. J) C294 (Part), Durnford; from its property known as Appletree Cottage for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out equipment upgrade and associated works. Alternative route via C294 (unaffected length) – C42 – C294 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 02 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. For further information please contact Core Highways on 03300 433030. Orders A) to J) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

SECTION 16A OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to Temporarily introduce a One-Way traffic restriction on the following roads in the specified directions:

a) Howgare Road (Part), Broad Chalke; from the county boundary in a northerly direction to its junction with Newtown. Direction of permitted travel northbound only.

b) Newtown, Broad Chalke; from its junction with C12 High Road to its junction with Howgare Road. Direction of permitted travel south westbound only.

c) UC Road (Bury Orchard), Broad Chalke; from its junction with Howgare Road to its junction with C65 The Causeway. Direction of permitted travel northbound only.

And to close temporarily to all traffic (access will be maintained for residents):

d) Knighton Road, Broad Chalke; from its junction with Newtown for its entire length.

e) Bulls Lane, Broad Chalke; from its junction with Howgare Road to its junction with C65 South Street.

And to close temporarily to all traffic, including pedestrians:

f) Bridleway 6, Broad Chalke; from its junction with Howgare Road to its junction with Footpath 39, Broad Chalke.

The Order is made to ensure public safety during the period of Chalke Valley History Festival. The restrictions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 23 June 2025 and it is anticipated that the restrictions will be in operation until 29 June 2025. Due to an administrative error this notice was published in the Wiltshire Times on 23rd May 2025.

Notice is hereby given that on 14 May 2025 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Orders 1 and 2 under the Traffic Management Act 2004, the effect of which is as follows:

Order 1

a) To introduce No Waiting at any time on Clarendon Road, Alderbury – both sides – from its junction with Southampton Road to a point 16 metres north east of the centreline of the access road between the properties known as No.6 Clarendon Road and Charnwood, Southampton Road;

Southampton Road, Alderbury – north side – from a point 30 metres north west of its junction with Clarendon Road to a point 30 metres south east of that junction;

b) To introduce No Waiting at any time and No Loading Monday to Friday 8.30am–9.30am and 2pm–4pm on Firs Road, Alderbury – both sides –

i) from its junction with Southampton Road to a point 20 metres north east of that junction

ii) from a point 12 metres north east of its junction with Firs Road (Spur) to a point 12 metres south west of that junction;

Firs Road, Alderbury – north west side – from a point 10 metres south west of its junction with Woolea Grange to a point 19 metres north east of that junction;

Firs Road, Alderbury – south east side – from a point 10 metres south west of its junction with Woolea Grange to its junction with Pinckney Lane;

Firs Road (Spur), Alderbury – both sides – from its junction with Firs Road to a point 12 metres north west of that junction;

Pinckney Lane, Alderbury – north east and south east side – from its junction with Firs Road to a point 15 metres north of the centreline of the vehicular access to Alderbury Football Club;

Pinckney Lane, Alderbury – north west and south west side – from a point 20 metres north east of the centreline of the vehicular access to Alderbury and West Grimstead Primary School to a point 15 metres north west of the centreline of the vehicular access to Alderbury and West Grimstead Primary School to a point 15 metres north west of the centreline of the vehicular access to Alderbury Football Club;

Southampton Road, Alderbury – both sides – from a point 17 metres north west of its junction with Firs Road to a point 16 metres south east of that junction;

Woodlea Grange, Alderbury – both sides – from its junction with Firs Road to a point 8 metres north west of that junction.

Order 2 – To introduce No Stopping on Entrance Markings (School Keep Clear) on Firs Road, Alderbury – north west side – from a point 19 metres north east of its junction with Woodlea Grange to its junction with Pinckney Lane;

Pinckney Lane, Alderbury – north west side – from its junction with Firs Road to a point 26 metres north east of the centreline of the vehicular access to Alderbury and West Grimstead Primary School.

Order 3 – To introduce a 20mph speed limit zone on Carpenter Court, Firs Road, Pinckney Lane, Pooley Place, and Woodlea Grange, Alderbury – the complete lengths.

A copy of the Orders can be obtained via email request to TrafficOrders@wiltshire.gov.uk  Any person aggrieved by the Orders and desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in the Orders on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. The Orders came into operation on 26 May 2025.
