U8290 MARKET PLACE HEXHAM

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U8290 Market Place, Hexham for its entire length of 34 metres in the County of Northumberland.

The Order is to be effective from the 16th June 2025 until the 24th September 2025.

It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 16th June 2025 until the 4th July 2025 and that the road will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 24th September 2025.

There will be no alternative route available for the duration of the TTRO.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council to carry out the refurbishment of Hexham Shambles. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
