HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 – SECTION 90A – F (INCLUSIVE)

PROVISION OF SPEED HUMPS – ILFORD SOUTH AREA

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to control the speed of vehicles under the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with the provisions of the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 the Council of the London Borough of Redbridge proposes to construct speed humps and flat-top entry treatment at the following locations:-

    (i) Cecil Road, outside house Nos. 3, 17 & 33 or thereabouts;

    (ii) Hamilton Road, outside house Nos. 1, 15 & 33 or thereabouts;

    (iii) Harvey Road, outside house Nos. 16, 42 & 70 or thereabouts;

    (iv) Hunter Road, outside house Nos. 16, 40 & 67 or thereabouts;

    (v) Jersey Road, outside house Nos. 4, 28 & 43 or thereabouts;

    (vi) Madras Road, outside house Nos. 8, 19 & 37 or thereabouts;

    (vii) Norman Road, outside house Nos. 6, 28, 45 & 72 or thereabouts;

    (viii) Roman Road, outside house Nos. 5, 26, 52, & 71 or thereabouts;

    (ix) Sandyhill Road, outside house Nos. 7, 30 & 54 or thereabouts;

    (x) St. Lukes Avenue, outside house Nos. 10, 34 & 50 or thereabouts;

    (xi) Harvey Road, at the junction with Ilford Lane;

    (xii) Norman Road, at the junction with Ilford Lane;

    (xiii) Roman Road, at the junction with Ilford Lane.

  2. The speed humps (i) to (x) would be of round top (sinusoidal) design, approximately 75 millimetres at their highest point with an overall length of 3.7 metres. The speed humps would be constructed in accordance with Department for Transport regulations.

  3. The raised entry treatment (xi to xiii) would be of flat top design, approximately 75 millimetres at its highest point with an overall length of 4.5 metres. The raised entry treatment would be constructed in accordance with Department for Transport regulations.

  4. A copy of the plans showing the locations of the speed humps may be inspected between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m., on Mondays to Fridays at the Information Centre, Lynton House, 255-259 High Road, Ilford Essex IG1 1NY.

  5. Any person wishing to object or make representation to the proposals should send a statement in writing of either their objection or representation and the grounds thereof to the Head of Highways and Transportation Strategy, Lynton House, 2nd Floor Front, 255-259 High Road, Ilford, Essex IG1 1NY quoting reference CP/TE/SA-YA/25-TS by no later than 19th June 2025.

ILFORD SOUTH AREA – 20MPH ZONE

THE REDBRIDGE (20 MPH ZONE) (NO.) TRAFFIC ORDER 202

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Council of the London Borough of Redbridge after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, propose to make the above-mentioned Order in exercise of the powers, conferred by Section 84 and 124 of part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

  2. The general effect of the Order would be to introduce a 20 miles per hour zone in the roads and lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. A further effect of the Order would be to revoke or consolidate the existing 20 MPH Zones in the surrounding area into the same Order.

  3. Copies of the Order, of the Orders being revoked, together with a plan of the area and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected between 9.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays (9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on Wednesdays), until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Order is made or as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, at the Information Centre, Lynton House, 255–259 High Road, Ilford, Essex, IG1 1NY.

  4. Any person wishing to object or make representation on the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection or representation and the grounds thereof to the Chief Engineering and Building services Officer, Lynton House, 255–259 High Road, Ilford, Essex, IG1 1NY quoting reference CP/TE/SA-YA/25-T5 by no later than 19th June 2025.
