Startley Nook - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
LONG MOSS LANE AND STARTLEY NOOK, WHITESTAKE, SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle or cycle to proceed over the following lengths of highway.
i. Long Moss Lane, Whitestake from its most northern junction with Startley Nook for a distance of 328 metres in a southerly direction.
ii. Startley Nook, Whitestake from its most northern junction with Long Moss Lane for a distance of 150 metres in a easterly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Monday 16th June 20266 until 1700 hours on Wednesday 23rd July 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via: -
Long Moss Lane to Sheephill Lane to Wham Lane to Long Moss Lane and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to install and joint cable for LV overlay works to be carried out.
