What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(A6097, VARIOUS LOCATIONS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (N25-167)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Various Locations in the Borough or District of Newark and Sherwood

The effects of the Order will be:

1. No vehicle shall proceed at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour in the following length of road

a. A6097 Lowdham Bypass, Lowdham - From its junction with Southwell Road, Lowdham to its junction with Epperstone Bypass, Lowdham

b. A6097 Epperstone Bypass, Lowdham - From its junction with Lowdham Bypass, Lowdham to its junction with Oxton Road, Epperstone

c. A6097 Oxton Road, Epperstone - From its junction with Epperstone Bypass, Lowdham to its junction with Oxton Bypass, Oxton

d. A6097 Oxton Bypass, Oxton - From its junction with Oxton Road, Epperstone to its junction with Ollerton Road, Oxton

e. A6097 Ollerton Road, Oxton - From its junction with Oxton Bypass, Oxton to its junction with Old Rufford Road, Farnsfield

2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 09:00 hours until 15:30 hours only on the following dates
From Monday 2nd June until Friday 6th June 2025
From Monday 16th June until Friday 20th June 2025
From Monday 30th June until Friday 4th July 2025
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be: a. No alternative route available

The Order will come into force on 2nd June 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
