What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC143387591: The City of Manchester (Buckingham Road, Chorlton Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Buckingham Road Road. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Manchester Road, Brantingham Road, Buckingham Road vice versa. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate frame and cover replacement. It is expected that the works will be in progress on the 4th June 2025 between the hours of 19:00 and 22:00.
The order shall come into operation on the 4th June 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
ORDER NO. MCC000143121194: The City of Manchester (London Road, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary Closure of Bus Lane) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit any bus, taxi or pedal cycle from proceeding at any time in the following length of bus lane: London Road from Ducie Street to Fairfield Street The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to repair of defective carriageway chamber on behalf of Vodafone /Repair defective materials surrounding chamber. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 3rd June 2025 to 4th June 2025.
The order shall come into operation on 3rd June 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
