(Temporary Prohibition of Stopping and Waiting of Vehicles) Order 2025

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, intends to make an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of stopping and waiting of vehicles as specified in the Schedule below. This Order will come into operation on the 12th day of June 2025 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The restriction will come into force, as signed on site, on the 16th day of June 2025 until the 7th day of September 2025 (between 0000 hours and 2359 hours, 7 days a week). The restriction is in place to alleviate traffic congestion during the Wales and West Utilities works on Silk Mills. Exemptions are provided in the Order for emergency service vehicles and highway maintenance vehicles.

Bindon Road, Taunton (both sides of carriageway) – from its junction with Dowell Close to its junction with the A3027 Staplegrove Road

Statement of reasons for making the Order

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
