What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (A22 Golden Jubilee Way, Westham/Eastbourne) (Temporary 40 mph  Speed Limit) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following length of road to a speed not exceeding 40 mph:

Temporary 40 mph Speed Limit

Golden Jubilee Way – from the junction with A27 Dittons Road roundabout to the junction with A22 Shinewater roundabout.

The Order commences 5 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the speed restriction will be in place between 5 June and 25 July 2025.

The East Sussex (U7707 Church Lane, Pevensey) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Church Lane – from the junction with U7707 St Nicholas Close to the junction with B2191 High Street. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2191 High Street – A259 Wallsend Road – U7707 Church Lane and vice versa.

The Order commenced 6 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 3 and 12 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7759 Lynholm Road/Aberdale Road, Polegate) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Lynholm Road/Aberdale Road – from the junction with U7759 Bramley Road to No.1 Lynholm Road. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7759 Lynholm Road – B2247 Pevensey Road – U7759 Aberdale Road and vice versa.

The Order commenced 22 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 5 and 9 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2128 Gorringe Road, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Gorringe Road – from the junction with U2128 Tutts Barn Lane to the junction with A2021 Bedfordwell Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A2021 Bedfordwell Road, Lewes Road – U2128 Tutts Barn Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 2 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 June and 11 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2055 College Road, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Eastbourne Borough Council to facilitate Eastbourne Tennis Tournament, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

College Road – from the junction with U2056 Blackwater Road to the junction with U2046 Carlisle Road. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2056 Blackwater Road – U2064 Chiswick Place – U2060 Hardwick Road – U2053 Compton Street – U2051 Wilmington Gardens – U2046 Carlisle Road – U2045 Grange Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 1 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated the closure will be in place between 1 June and 4 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2060 Hardwick Road, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2056 Blackwater Road – U2064 Chiswick Place – U2060 Hardwick Road – U2053 Compton Street – U2051 Wilmington Gardens – U2046 Carlisle Road – U2045 Grange Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 1 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated the closure will be in place between 1 June and 4 July 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2131 Lushington Lane, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Lushington Lane – from the junction with A259 Gildredge Road to the junction with U2131 Lushington Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2131 Lushington Road – U2132 Cornfield Road – A259 Memorial roundabout, South Street, Gildredge Road.

The Order commences 16 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A259 Ashford Road, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Southern Cranes and Access Limited to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Ashford Road – from the junction with A259 Terminus Road to the junction with U2146 Cavendish Place. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 Station roundabout, Upperton Road – A2040 The Avenue, Upper Avenue, Upper Avenue roundabout – U2146 Upper Avenue, Cavendish Place – U2149 Ashford Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 17 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 23:30hrs to 06:00hrs between 17 and 19 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2104 Langney Rise, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Langney Rise – from the junction with B2104 Hide Hollow roundabout to the junction with A259 Langney roundabout.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic northbound via A259 Langney roundabout, St Anthonys Avenue, Seaside, Seaside roundabout – A2290 Lottbridge Drove, Birch roundabout, Lottbridge Drove – A22 Lottbridge roundabout, Highfield Link, Shinewater roundabout – B2191 Willingdon Drove – B2104 Willingdon roundabout, Friday Street, Hide Hollow roundabout and southbound via B2104 Hide Hollow roundabout, Friday Street, Willingdon roundabout – B2191 Willingdon Drove – A22 Shinewater roundabout, Highfield Link – A2290 Highfield Link – A22 Lottbridge roundabout – A2290 Lottbridge Drove, Birch roundabout, Lottbridge Drove – A259 Seaside roundabout, Seaside, St Anthonys Avenue, Langney roundabout.

The Order commences 13 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 13 June and 16 October 2025, depending upon the weather conditions.
