What is happening?

SOUTHEND-ON-SEA CITY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC, STOPPING, WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING (TTO25-08) ORDER 2025

(HAINAULT AVENUE)

Notice is hereby given that Southend-on-Sea City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The purpose of this Order will be to temporarily prohibit one-way traffic, stopping, waiting, loading and unloading at locations stated in Table 1 of this Notice.

The closure is scheduled to commence from 28th May 2025 or where appropriate signs are showing and/or cones are in place.

The alternative route will be via Westborough Road and Ramuz Drive. Access will be allowed for delivery only from Westborough Road to the point of closure.

The one-way route will come into effect on 28th May 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce whilst carriageway patching work takes place.

Access for emergency vehicles, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.

The road will only be closed when the appropriate signs and cones are in place and between the times stated by the Traffic Signs and Regulations General Directions 2016.

Any vehicle in contravention of any restriction/prohibition imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and removed under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
