What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (C213 Ludpit Lane/Willards Hill, Robertsbridge)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 No.2

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Ludpit Lane/Willards Hill – from the junction of U6198 Fontridge Lane to the junction with C18 Brightling Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C213 Oxenbridge Lane – A265 High Street, Haremere Hill, Station Road – A21(T) London Road, Silverhill – C18 Northbridge Street, High Street, Station Road, Brightling Road and vice versa.

The Order commenced 31 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 4 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3235 Halton Terrace, Hastings) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County

Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Halton Terrace – from the junction with U3234 Egremont Place to the junction with U3235 Halton Crescent.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3234 Egremont Place – U3186 Priory Road – C551 Priory Road – U3235 Halton Place, Halton Crescent and vice versa.

The Order commences 4 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 4 and 11 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3227 Mount Road, Hastings)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Powertek Utilities Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Mount Road – at its junction with A259 Old London Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3227 Mount Road – U3224 Ashburnham Road – A259 Old London Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 2 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 6 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6021 Stubb Lane, Brede)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Stubb Lane – from the junction with B2089 Udimore Road to the junction with A28 Cackle Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2089 Udimore Road – A28 Cackle Street and vice versa.

The Order commenced 23 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 6 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6437 The Mint, Rye)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
The Mint – from the junction with U6437 High Street to the junction with U6438 Mermaid Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6444 Market Road – A268 Cinque Ports Street, Wish Street – U6436 Wish Ward – U6438 Mermaid Street.

The Order commenced 14 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 6 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Mountfield Lane – from the junction with U6413 Church Road to Rose Cottage.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6413 Church Road, New Cut – A2100 London Road – A21(T) Johns Cross Road – C18 George Hill, High Street,

Station Road, Brightling Road – C281 Hollingrove Hill – U6413 Kent Lane, Mountfield Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 5 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 5 and 7 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C213 Sheepstreet Lane, Etchingham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County

Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Sheepstreet Lane – from the junction with C213 Church Lane to the junction with C83 Wardsbrook Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C83 Myskyns Road – C212 Battenhurst Road, Shrub Lane – A265 Etchingham Road, Straight Mile, High Street – U6196 Burgh Hill – U6895 Fysie Lane and vice versa.

The Order commenced 17 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 5 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C18 Herrings Road, Ashburnham)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Herrings Road – from the junction with U6119 Slivericks Lane to the junction with C18 Ponts Green.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C18 Herrings Road – C277 Bluekiln Road, Redpale, North Road – C16 White Horse Road, The Causeway, Victoria Road – A271 Windmill Hill Road, The Strait, Boreham Hill, Kitchenham Road – C18 Hammer Hill, Church Road, Ponts Green and vice versa.

The Order commenced 10 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 4 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

West Down Road/U6745 Woodsgate Park, Bexhill)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Gunters Lane and West Down Road – from the junction with P6616 Old Mill Park to the junction with U6582 Broadoak Lane.

Diversion via U6586 West Down Road – A259(T) Little Common Road – A2690 Combe Valley Way – A269 London Road, Ninfield Road – C346 Turkey Road – U6589 Gunters Lane and vice versa.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commenced 17 February 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 6 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6299 Rookery Lane, Winchelsea)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Rookery Lane – from the junction with C298 High Street to the junction with U6299 Back Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C298 High Street – U6299 St Thomas Street, Back Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 16 and 20 June 2025, depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3160 St Margarets Road, St Leonards-on-Sea)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
St Margarets Road – from the junction with U3157 Church Road to the junction with U3159 Magdalen Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic eastbound via U3157 Church Road – U3158 St Johns Road – U3159 Magdalen Road and westbound via U3159 Magdalen Road – U3158 Edward Road – U3157 Church Road.

The Order commences 16 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 16 and 20 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3141 Norman Road, St Leonards-on-Sea)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Norman Road – from the junction with U3139 Mercatoria to the junction with A2102 Norman Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic eastbound via U3139 Mercatoria, East Ascent, Gardner Way – A259 Marina, Grand Parade – A2102 London Road and westbound via A2102 Norman Road, Warrior Square – A259 Grand Parade, Marina – U3139 Burton Way, East Ascent, Mercatoria.

The Order commences 16 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 04:00hrs between 16 and 18 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
