What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH

 THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(COLLINGHAM FOOTPATH NO.29) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-

No person shall: - Proceed on foot,

in the following length of Footpath at Collingham in the District of Newark and Sherwood: -

Collingham Footpath No.29, between its junction with Collingham Footpath No.28 and its junction with Collingham Footpath No.45.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:-

From 2nd June 2025 until 1st December 2025 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route will be via Collingham Footpath No. 28, Collingham Byway No.34 and Collingham Footpath No.45 and vice versa.

The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath. It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.

The prohibition is required to protect public safety while Tarmac remove the wharf facility at Besthorpe Quarry as part of their planning obligations.

THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED

THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 29TH DAY OF MAY 2025.
