Wiltshire, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

  • A Exmoor Road (Part), Westbury, from its property known as No. 6 Exmoor Road to its property known as No. 8 Exmoor Road to enable Wessex Water to carry out manhole and associated works. Alternative route via Exmoor Road (unaffected length) – Sandalwood Road – Dartmoor Road – Brabant Way – Oldfield Road – Exmoor Road (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 17 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 for 2 days.   • B Middle Lane, Trowbridge (Part), from its junction with Victoria Road for its entire length, D Albert Road (Part), Trowbridge, from its junction with Middle Lane for a distance of approximately 20m in a northerly direction to enable MJ Evans Construction Ltd/Spireman Homes Ltd to carry out sewer and communication cabling and associated works. Alternative route via Albert Road (unaffected length) – Osborne Road – Victoria Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 16 June 2025 and the closures will be required until 01 August 2025.   • B 3353 (Part), Corsham, from its junction with Lacock Road to its junction with Dicketts Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway works and other associated works. Alternative route via B 3353 (unaffected length) – A365 – B3109 – A4 – B3353 and vice versa. This Order will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 23:59 on 23 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 23:59 until 31 July 2025.   • C91 (Part), Steeple Ashton, from its junction with Ashton Road to its junction with Drove Lane for a distance of approximately 80m in a south easterly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out and associated works. Alternative route via C91 (unaffected length) – C249 – C450 – C19 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 16 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 for 2 days.   • B3107 (Part), Bradford on Avon, from its junction with Church Lane to its junction with Brookfield Close to enable Wessex Water to carry out replacement of water and associated works. Alternative route via B3107 (unaffected length) – B3105 – B3109 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 2 days.   • C Church Lane (Part), North Bradley, from its property known as No. 48 Church Lane to its junction with Gays Lease to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out gully and carriageway works and associated works. Alternative route via Church Lane (unaffected length) – C20 – A363 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 2 days.   • C20 Bewley Lane (Part), Lacock, from its junction with Bowden Hill for a distance of approximately 130m in a north easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out cabling and associated works. Alternative route via Bowden Hill – Bewley Lane (unaffected length) – UC 969602 – UC 969502 – C150 – C155 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 29 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. Orders A to H will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will be completed to schedule; however, delays are possible due to adverse weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all users:

  • A) Bridleway 33 (Part), Hilperton, from its junction with Middle Lane to its junction with B3105 to enable construction of foul and storm sewer to serve new 68 unit development. Alternative route via B3095 – A361 – Victoria Road – Middle Lane and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 16 June 2025 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 25 July 2025.   • B) Footpath 91, Melksham Without, from its junction with Bath Road to its junction with Footpath 24, Melksham and

  • C) Footpath 24, Melksham, from its junction with Footpath 91, Melksham Without to its junction with Shurnhold to enable Wessex Water to undertake essential sewer network scheme in fields adjacent to Bath Road and the working area is to be kept open whilst the scheme takes place. Alternative route via A365 and vice versa. This closure which includes no alternative route will come into operation on 16 June 2025 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 31 July 2025. Notice is hereby given that on 14 May 2025 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Orders 1 and 2 under the Traffic Management Act 2004, the effect of which is as follows:

Order 1 – To introduce No Waiting at any time on Clarendon Road, Aldebury – both sides – from its junction with Southampton Road to a point 16 metres north-east of the centreline of the access road between the properties known as No. 60 Clarendon Road and Charnwood, Southampton Road.

Southampton Road, Aldebury – both sides – from a point 30 metres west of its junction with Clarendon Road to a point 30 metres south of that junction.

To introduce No Waiting at any time and No Loading Monday to Friday 8.30am–9.30am and 2.30pm–4.00pm on Firs Road, Aldebury – both sides – from its junction with Southampton Road to a point 20 metres north-east of that junction, and from a point 12 metres north-east of its junction with Woodlea Garage to its junction with Pinckney Lane.

Firs Road (west side) – from its junction with Woodlea Garage to a point 19 metres north of that junction.

Firs Road (east side) – from its junction with Firs Road to a point 12 metres south-east of its junction.

Woodlea Garage – east side – 10 metres north-east of that junction.

Order 2 – To introduce No Stopping on Firs Road, Aldebury – both sides – from its junction with Firs Road to a point 12 metres south-east of its junction, including Pinckney Lane, Aldebury – north-east and south-west sides – from its junction with Firs Road to a point 16 metres north-west of that junction.

Pinckney Lane, Aldebury – north-east side – from a point 15 metres north-east of its junction with Firs Road to a point 6 metres north-east of that junction.

Pinckney Lane, Aldebury – north-east side – from a point 30 metres north-east of its junction with Firs Road to a point 45 metres north-east of that junction.

Pinckney Lane, Aldebury – north-east and south-west sides – between its junctions with Clarendon Road and Firs Road.

Order 3 – To introduce 20mph speed limit on the following lengths of roads;** Clarendon Road, Southampton Road, Aldebury – from its junction with Clarendon Road to its junction with Pinckney Lane, Aldebury.

All other road lengths listed are within a radius of 300 metres from Clarendon Road and Firs Road including Aldebury West and East Crescent Primary School.

Order 3 – To introduce a 20mph speed limit on:

Clarendon Road, Aldebury – from its junction with Pinckney Lane to Southampton Road and including all side roads, crescents, and unnamed roads adjoining or lying within the boundary of the 20mph zone.

Copies of the Orders, plans, and statements of reasons for making the Orders can be inspected online at www.wiltshire.gov.uk/troconsultations, or at Wiltshire Council offices. Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any provisions contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Act, may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks of 26 May 2025.

THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (WESTBURY, HEYWOOD AND DILTON MARSH)

(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING, TAXI RANK CLEARWAYS AND ON STREET PARKING) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2025

(Previously advertised as 2024)

Notice is hereby given that on 14 May 2025 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 to revoke the Westbury, Heywood and Dilton Marsh Consolidation Order 2019 (with Amendments Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 6), to re-enact it in the above Order and to include new Map Schedule No. FP31 and additional restrictions the effect of which will be to introduce No Waiting at any time on B3098 Bratton Road, Westbury – north-west side – from its junction with Bitham Park for a distance of 60 metres in a westerly direction.

Any person aggrieved by the Order and wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant section of the Act or that any requirement or regulation of the Act has not been complied with, may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, apply to the High Court.

The Order will come into operation on 30 May 2025.
