NOTICE OF MODIFICATION ORDER
SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
The Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way for the County of Lancashire
THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
UPGRADING OF FOOTPATH TO RESTRICTED BYWAY ACROSS HOSCAR MOSS, LATHOM Definitive Map Modification Order 2025
The above Order, made on 30 April 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way for the area, by recording a Restricted byway from open junction with Wood Lane and Bleak Lane in a north north westerly direction to the west of Willowbeck House in a straight line for its full length through to the open junction with Meadow Lane.
The length of the route is 1 km and the width varies between 7 metres and 8 metres.
A copy of the Order and the Order Map may be seen free of charge at the offices of West Lancashire Borough Council, and at my offices from 9.00 to 17.00 on weekdays. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at the price of £1.00. A free digital copy of the Order may be requested by emailing

Any representations about, or objections to the Order may be sent in writing by email to
or by letter to Simon Moore, Lancashire County Council, PO Box 100, County Hall, Preston, PR1 0LD (REF: LSG4/888.2611/SM18) not later than 10 July 2025 and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which they are made.
If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, Lancashire County Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State for the Environment, may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
