A697 WOOPERTON JUNCTION TO WOOLER, WOOLER
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the A697 Wooperton Junction to Wooler from its junction with Brewery Road heading in a southerly direction for a length of 4225 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 2nd June 2025 until the 31st October 2025.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 23rd June 2025 until the 25th June 2025 between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 during this period, however the Order will remain in place until the 31st October 2025.
The works will be carried out in phases and the dates of the other phases are still to be confirmed.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being A697, B6525, B6353, A1, U3007, B6341, C90 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council to carry out resurfacing works on separate occasions. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
